I live about 2 hours from this place & raced on it once with my vette(didn't have viper yet). It's a pretty decent track. I can't believe how cheap. I was thinking even if no one else went I'd have 4 hours to test & tune! Anyone interested? The website's below:
Need more seat time? Rent the...
I just received my set of 18" BBS wheels ( thanks Jon B ) and now need tires. Any recommendations on type, style & cheapest place to purchase?? I plan on doing road courses like POCONO, Lime Rock, Nazareth, Englishtown, etc. I'm thinking Hoosier's??
Does anyone know where I can find/purchase the wing like found on the Mobil cars? I've looked at many wings but the I like the one on the poster of Hissstory and the diecast model I have. Here's the sites with pictures of the wing I'd like to get...
Yes I agree. For a few more thousand I can buy a new Z06 but it's not a Viper.. will never look like one. I can also strap a rocket engine on a broom stick too and be faster but do I really want that?
Yes I was waiting for the reply too. In fact I got a quote from his man in NJ and was a alot disappointed. He guaranteed no numbers on his quote and only " spoke " of maybe 650-670 HP. He gave no guarantees whatsoever. And besides that, his price was only about 5K cheaper.I thought it should...
I appreciate all your replies and they make good sense.. well most of them. However; I have a Grand National and you constantly have to watch your boost levels, O2 readings, Knock sensors, etc which is annoying! Isn't it the same with a supercharger? When you're on the line do you have to get...
Someone please try and talk me out of going to Lingenfelter for his 540 CID package!! I am dead serious about doing it!! I have yet to find any bad mouthing about him and I think his name and reputation precede him. I take my car to the drags maybe 5 times a year and road race maybe 4 times a...
Anyone put on different shocks on their Snake? I'm thinking about adjustable's but am not sure if I should or not. I plan on doing some road courses but also do not want to lose street-ability. Also I put on 18" wheels and would like to lower the car down a little. It looks too high off the ground.
I think it's finally time to replace my original battery in my 96 GTS Coupe. Does anyone have any recommendations what kind & where to buy the best? I am running some necessary accessories such as a Valentine 1, two bottle heaters for the NOS bottle....
the usual. Any input would be appreciated.
I have a 96 GTS coupe. Tried with cats, eliminating resonators..
no good. Tried rear mufflers no cats no resonators...no good. Tried cats, resonators no mufflers.. no good. I'm talking sound alone here. Best combo I found and many people compliment is no cats, leave resonators on and Mopar...
Re: New Z06\'s smoke Vipers?
You can strap a rocket engine on a broom stick and outrun a Viper but would you really want one? Tell GM to get rid of that hideous a** end on the C5 and then, maybe then, it would be worth looking at!! Viper.... the total package including looks!!
Let me say this: the Viper is Awesome Engineered!! I had those plugs out, indexed & back in the car in a little over an hour. Everything is a pleasure to work on ( I previosly owned 5 Vettes..what a nightmare to work on. Chevy should get a clue from Dodge engineering! ). I just removed the box...
Okay, I went out and bought 30 Champion stock plugs at $1.00 each. That way I have enough to get them indexed without using the washers. I'll gap them around .035. Thanks!
I'm changing my spark plugs on my 96 GTS ( finally at 8,000 miles) . Any recommendations?
Was planning on staying with stock Champions. Book says gap between .033 & .038? Does anybody index their plugs?
Weather permitting, I'll be at Cecil Co. Dragstrip, MD on Friday,
June 29th at 5:00 p.m. for the grudge races if anyone wants to join me. I'll only be allowed 2 passes for I'm sure to be asked to leave after 10 second runs but it'll be worth it. I wish Tom Welch would get moving on my roll cage...
I'll be going soon but can't make this Friday. Try Speedshftr @ aol.com. We're going to try & hook up to go also. Great track, good E.T. Times. They gave me a warning last year for going into the 11's. This time it will be the 10's(lol)!
On a related subject.... also check with your insurance agent. I guarantee you, you are not covered under your insurance at a drag strip or race track. Someone hits you or anything happens to you personally .. you're on your own. Be careful.
My .02 worth...... I ran an 11.90 at 121mph at CecilCo., MD
on street Michelin tires. My car may not be as quick but it runs faster. They are many "muscle cars" quicker at the track than mine but very few faster. All that was done was K&N's,Smooth tubes & Exhaust.
I just bought one from Jon B at PartsRack and he beat my local dealer on price by close to $100. I modified mine, that's why I wanted to keep a stock one also.
