    Yes I agree. For a few more thousand I can buy a new Z06 but it's not a Viper.. will never look like one. I can also strap a rocket engine on a broom stick too and be faster but do I really want that?

    Snake Handling

    Anyone put on different shocks on their Snake? I'm thinking about adjustable's but am not sure if I should or not. I plan on doing some road courses but also do not want to lose street-ability.     I think it's finally time to replace my original battery in my 96 GTS Coupe. Does anyone have any recommendations what kind & where to buy the best?     Re: New Z06\'s smoke Vipers? You can strap a rocket engine on a broom stick and outrun a Viper but would you really want one? Tell GM to get rid of that hideous a** end on the C5 and then, maybe then, it would be worth looking at!! Viper.... the total package including looks!!

    Thanks for the replies but I always face my plugs with the open gap facing up. Also the service manual recommends you torque the plugs at 20 ft/lbs.

    Okay, I went out and bought 30 Champion stock plugs at $1.00 each. That way I have enough to get them indexed without using the washers. I'll gap them around .035. Thanks!

    I'm changing my spark plugs on my 96 GTS ( finally at 8,000 miles) . Any recommendations? Was planning on staying with stock Champions. Book says gap between .033 & .038? Does anybody index their plugs?

    Drag Races at Cecil Co.,Maryland- Friday

    Weather permitting, I'll be at Cecil Co. Dragstrip, MD on Friday, June 29th at 5:00 p.m. for the grudge races if anyone wants to join me.     Stock GTS + Drag Strip = VOIDED WARRANTY?

    On a related subject.... also check with your insurance agent. I guarantee you, you are not covered under your insurance at a drag strip or race track. Someone hits you or anything happens to you personally .. you're on your own. Be careful.

    Just have to brag a LITTLE :) Ran 11.76 in virtually stock Viper

    My .02 worth...... I ran an 11.90 at 121mph at CecilCo., MD on street Michelin tires. My car may not be as quick but it runs faster. They are many "muscle cars" quicker at the track than mine but very few faster. All that was done was K&N's,Smooth tubes & Exhaust.

    Stock Airbox

    I just bought one from Jon B at PartsRack and he beat my local dealer on price by close to $100. I modified mine,that's why I wanted to keep a stock one also.
