What kind of maintanence on a 2008 could cost over 8000 in 5 years?? Are yearly head gasket changes part of routine maintanence?? Things must have changed since 1997...
Isn't 8000 about the cost of brake pads and an oil change in an Enzo?
My build was 11/97. You are not the last but old enough to need to check your intake manfold gaskets. Mine had the newer ones but I think a 7/97 will have the older style prone to leaking.
Try shifting from 4th to 6th and see if it is any easier. Mine had the same problem with a 5-6 shift but was fine 4-6. I think if was a worn syncro. Transmission was replaced under warranty.
I think the problem was going from a car with 276ft-lbs of torque (F360) to one with 675ft-lbs. With less than 1/2 (probably 1/3 at lower rpms) the torque it seems it would be hard to get into trouble with the Ferrari accelerating in a straight line even without T/C, ESC, etc.
I love to watch the wipers in the rain though with the rake of the windshield makes them almost unneccessary on the freeway. Reminds me of watching the LeMans race cars running in the rain.
When I saw the title of your thread I thought you had put a 10" sub in your car. I almost choked on my meal and wondered what is the world coming to!!
When I read the thread I realized what you meant.
Congratulations and glad to hear you haven't gone soft. :)
If I remember right, I just drilled a hole a little larger than the probe in the fan shroud to get it through. Just be sure you don't drill into the radiator!!
It helps if you like the taste of gas. It is a royal pain. I don't think I am ever going to do mine again.... It is not hard but can be very frustrating and time consuming.
Here is the best photo I have. The compressor is at the lower front of the engine. Just follow the lines. Easy to do with out a lift. 10 months and still blowing cold!
