I have a customer with either a turbo Talon or Eclipse. He put the engine together with a little help from his friends. Even though he will eventually hand grenade the engine with too much boost, I respect that he and his buddies actually turn wrenches. I have not hung out with them yet but...
I took a defensive driving course taught by a State Farm insurance office franchise owner. She actually said that as long as you have the other driver's insurance and it was clearly thier fault, don't even tell your insurance company. Contact her insurance agent and talk with them entirely...
I have seen it going the opposite way on the expressway a few times over the years and recently. I thought the rims were gold especially since I was aware of the limited run of rims. I would shelf the rims and get some Gen IV's just to preserve them even though I question their future...
That is why I eventually will just expand my garage. Over 4 yrs of ownership and every time I think I may be bored of my RT/10, the light catches it just right, or I drive down a curvy road, or feel a little of the torque and it seems like I just got it yesterday. You made the right decision in...
The damper and pulley are NOT keyed to the crank. My pulley unscrewed on it's own on my 2000 RT/10. Chuck Tator of Tator's Dodge hooked me up with a Roe Racing pin kit and I had it pinned at a local shop but it can be done in your own garage if you have the time and balls to drill into your...
The most important thing is you are OK. The Viper can be replaced. Deer are a real variable that can happen to anybody so don't beat yourself up too much over the accident.
I am personally thankful that there was ever a Viper at all especially now where hybrid vehicles are driving alongside us. Ever since I got mine 4 years ago there have been rumors about killing the Viper and that never bothered me once. Cardude, if you ever had any other old obsolete cars lying...
I work for UPS. It is very possible shipments get seperated and delayed. My guess is that UPS redirected 3 out of 4 wheels back to your house and the missing oddball got returned to the shipper Xvipers. I am not sure what state you live in but from NY to CA is 6-7 business days. Multiply that by...
It's just a fact that even with ony around 2k Vipers produced /yr, year after year the odds increase that you will see one. I think a key point you said is that you have seen multiple generations. Unless you go to a Viper gathering, it is very unlikley you see clones of your own Viper...
As you know the wheels on an ACR are a little lighter and the different suspension will change the way it handles. Improved aerodynamics do result in a slightly higher top speed. IMHO, you have the best of both worlds having both an RT/10 and ACR. Do you plan on selling the RT/10?
The old Lethal 750 GTS from C&D 2002 was bored and stroked to 550ci and was claimed to have 750hp 800ftlbs at crank. Every now and then it is for sale on EBay. The article never went into detail on CR but it ran on pump gas in the test.
I am glad that you are back in a Viper and it looks beautiful. I hope the insurance was at least civil on settling your claim and I hope the thief was prosecuted to the full extent of the law for trashing the wicked cool GTS you built.
I am more worried about someone stealing the whole car than vandalizing the engine. I am thankful that there is a Sheriff station next to the employee parking lot at work though.
