Re: how\'s the viper on long drives
Welcome!! Although I have not driven my 97 any notible distances, I did drive my 94 RT several 350 mile trips. The Gen I kinda beat me down on the trip, but I still enjoyed it!! I know the Gen II will be much more civilized on long (and short) trips......Kurt
Hey Dan,
Sounds like it's time to move up to a GTS!! Now that your car is back from the radiator shop I'd be happy to buy it from ya, for say - $22k-$25k
When I bought my 94 RT I thought that I would never modify it OR sell it!! Two months later the mods started and two years later I sold it and bought my 97 GTS (Which I will keep forever ) I love this car.!!
I had the Borla on my 94 RT and put it on my 97 GTS. It does sound deeper and richer than the Corsa and muffler delete IMO. Remember, you can always adjust your shift points, etc to reduce/eliminate drone.

Hi! I used to have an RT... In Florida it kind of becomes a pain. If you're thinking it MIGHT be a pain, it WILL be a pain. YOu'll always have to wonder about the afternoon thunder showers, etc...
Re: What\'s the Best Hard Top to get for Gen II RT10
I agree with Gerald. Several guys here in Dallas have the Autoform top and it looks great!! Seals very well from what I understand (not that the others don't)
Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards the Porter Cable 7428 polisher. It has adjustible wheel dial and trigger speed. Just trying to find the "best" deal....Kurt
97 GTS by far!!!
Do a search on the differences in models by year. Too much to list here, but include:
1. 99 and up = 18's
2. 98 and up = airbag cut off switch
3. 98 and up = alarm cut off in glove box
4. minor interior changes depending upon year
What type of buffers are you guys using on your car - random orbital or the variable speed type? I know that the random orbital is safer, but does it produce results?
Also, what brand of buffer do you use? Thanks....Kurt

Joseph,
That's the very reason I sold my RT/10. The top going on and off was a PITA... Always had to watch the weather. Man, that got old.. having to turn around and put the top back on and stuff...
J Smith and MaddMaxx,
Just FYI, 92-95 RT's were side exhaust and not rear (no rear muffler)!!
I agree with MaddMaxx, put some nice race mufflers and it will really wake up the exhaust note
Retired,
Did the same thing with my 94 when I had it. Immediate and vast improvement over stock!!! Six months later I put a Borla cat back on it and was very pleased with the deeper and richer exhaust note. Have fun.....Kurt
Side sills are MUCH cooler now, right??!!
I recently had stripes painted on my 97. My paint guy showed me several tricks, including how to get rid of paint chips. Simply fill in the chip with touch up paint then wet sand with 2000 grit and buff out. Looks great and you can NOT tell where the chip was.
To paint the entire fascia...
Wayne,
Very sorry to hear your story. I am one of those whom you referenced in your link to the previous discussion about Latham and Eric Lee. He had every opportunity to gain my business but REFUSED to simply return my calls!! Fool me once sham on you, but fool me twice shame on me. I will...
to put on a front splitter? I do not really track my car, but do like spirited driving. Don't want to sacrifice handling, etc. So, the car is mostly on the street. Also, what about canards?
Anyone know where to get the GT2 style splitter and canards? Price? Thanks for your help.....Kurt
