Re: My Grandma rippin\' up the road! I picked my 90 year old Grandma up for a 30 mile trip last summer and she loved it.

    98 GTS for 56K

Sound like a good deal to me. I paid $52K for my '96 and it had 15,000 miles, and no mods.

    96 GTS Trouble Codes

Rich, The only change to the car prior to the problem was instalation of one of Rich Detert's shorter shifter shafts. A great change by the way, much faster shifts. However in the process I did end up leaving the interior dome lights on for 5 or 6 hours. I have a very new red top optima battery...

    96 GTS Trouble Codes

I just got the "Service Engine Soon" light and using the old key cycle technique I got the following codes: 35, 71, 55 Can someone tell me what they mean? And can someone tell me where to get that information? I could not find it in my service manual.

Anyone Interested in Custom Made 10.5mm Plug Wire loom

Jim and Ken, I like the 'Made for You Products' wire looms, but since these mount to the bolts that hold down the valve covers I am wondering what you guys did about the threaded studs that protude from the valve covers that the normal looms mount to. I think they would somewhat spoil the neat...

    Front plate??

IL requires front plates, but it has not been a problem for me at all and I have not have a front plate for over 10 years. Many, many times I have had officers walk to the front to get my plate number, and then simply turn around and walk to the back to get it. No problem, other then the...

    After the purchase?

You have a great start there and Ron's ideas are right on the money. The only other issues I can remember from my '96 were an change to the alarm system (under hood sensor) and the PCV harness upgrade. I don't know if these issues would apply to a late '97 or not, but I know who would. Give JonB...

    Best place for head work

Mike, If you have $5K to $8K to spend and want to "add some more power without getting too crazy or expensive" why not get one of Sean Roe's Supercharger kits? You get a LOT more power than you would with head work and there are almost no variables involved. You can pretty much count on getting...

    Trading a 97 RT/10 for a 96 GTS question

    Showing my ignorance

Any of the major 3" cat back systems will be a big improvement in sound over the stock ssytem and all should just bolt right up to the stock converters. They all narrow down to 2 1/2" to do so. I would strongly recomend changing out the cats for low restriction at the same time. It does not...

    Recent Hard Drive Failure

Tony, Why did we lose data and require so much manual restoring when we lost a single hard drive? When we switched to our own server I assumed we had a RAID set-up for data storage. They are pretty cheap, very fast, and provide for redundancy so any single drive can fail with no loss of data.
