Right now I am leaning towards the new BBK. New and improved. I installed it seems much better than the single blade which I also have. The X-Metal worked fine but, I think this new BBK is better. Racing WED night. will post after and let you know how it did on the dragstrip.
Line lock 2004 Viper
I just finished installing a Hurst line lock on my 04 Viper. I thought I would share the installation with you. My pictures are not the best but, I think most came out ok. I purchased the line lock from JMB Performance.
First step was to locate a mounting area for the line...
I want to try this tire has anyone else tried this on a Gen3.
360X725X18 DUNLOP SLICKS
Approv rims: 14.5-15.0 (will fit 13"; rims)
Tire Dia: 28.3
Section Width: 15.8
Tread Wdth: 14.2
the only concern is they might be too large diameter for your car
I know they are for gen 2 cars
Infineon Raceway is the same with verts. The sent me home the first time and gave me my money back. I put on a autoform rollbar and a hardtop no problems the rollbar meets the requirements. I actually like the Autoform top. Running 11.7 123mph. Its a small investment (sortof) if you want to drag...
Well it finally happened after all the bashing I gave BBK they finally made the TB corrections. This story has other post but, seeing that a new purchased TB for my 04 Viper I thought a new thread was in order. This TB work perfectly. Perfect idle, great exceleration, and back again to the...
The fuel thing may play into this but, I normally run about a 1/4 tank I have yet to make a decision on what to do for next Wed but, I just may try them again and see.
I was getting sideways in 2nd gear. That I consider loose. I have a line lock and do a burnout before comming to the line. I think maybe there just worn to a point that the tire is just not as sticky as when new. Maybe to many burnouts. Still tread left on the tires I was thinking of having them...
This is only what the MT tech guy told me. I didn't make this up. I have some MT drag radials I just find there a bit loose. even with 12 psi. It may have been the track that day not sure but even loose in 2nd gear.
FYI First off let me talk to about drag radials. Not a good choice for the street or for the strip. After doing much research and hands on driving the drag radial is not really designed for cars with gear transmissions. It was designed for for automatic transmissions due to loads placed on the...
I feel better with some new tires. Todd had mentioned that Nitto tires hook up great (Dan Cragin) I need 18's. I don't want to go into rim size changes.
I think the 3.73 really wakes up the car. It will naturally run hotter so a diff cooler would be a great addition. I ran 3.73 at the track and it is at or near redline at the end of the 1/4. I switched to 3.54 gears and run better 1/4 mile times 11.7 123 mph. My thoughts are the perfect 1/4 mile...
I went to Infineon last night for the Wed night drags. I had nothing but traction problems from 25psi down to 12 psi in the final round. The tires were all over the place. I am not sure but, it seems that since I did a bunch of burnouts on these tires something has changed and they really don't...
I have been running the MT radials on 18" SSR rims. I have raced them with many psi changes. As low as 12 and as high as 28 psi. a couple of different gears 3.73 and 3.54 This is a pretty good tire for the Viper 0n 3.73 gears I ran a 1.4 60' time on 3.54 running a 1.7 60 ft. The 3.54 with the OS...
