Orange Coast Dodge won't repair $1400 scratch

Re: Orange Coast Dodge won\'t repair $1400 scratch If your family and/or friends can solidly establish the condition the car was in when you left it, you should be able to win in court, even without a lawyer. Just ask them questions about its condition when they last saw it (should be...

08 Viper Changes and then a redesign in 2010?

C'mon, you guys need to give Wicked more credit. He is so slick it might have escaped you, but he's getting TWO fast cars: a Viper AND a racer. In fact, I personally know that tactic WILL WORK. The wife "gets" the Viper she wants and Wicked "gets" the race car. The Viper is "hers", though he...

    Difficult to shift when cold?

Thanks, everyone. That is what I was hoping to hear-that the oil was cold and this is a common phenomenon. If it gets worse, I'll have the Viper tech check the slave cylinder by leaving it overnight away from home. Now, I think I can wait before doing that. This board really kicks!!

    Difficult to shift when cold?

My SRT/10 shifts fine when warmed up, but upon startup in colder weather (Louisiana, so colder is low 40's, high 30's) the shifter seems much more notchy, especially from 1st to 2nd. Once I drive it a few miles the notchiness goes away. Is this common, or is my "used" car (10,000miles) having a...

sirius radio for '05 SRT Viper

sirius radio for \'05 SRT Viper I goofed and posted on the GTS forum my question about the Sirius Mopar add-on for the standard Viper SRT radio, so can anyone here post a photo of the add-on part? Any suggestions about the installation? Thanks.

sirius radio for '05 SRT Viper

sirius radio for \'05 SRT Viper Can anyone post a photo of the Mopar add-on radio system for my '05 SRT/10 Viper? I would like to see what it looks like and figure out how much trouble it will be to install. Any suggestions about installation? Thanks.

    Personalized Plates

My new plate will be D500VPR for my '05 SRT10 convert. In the 50's the biggest Dodge engines were designated D500. Coincidentally, my Viper came with 505hp, but now has about 520-530 thanks to reflash and greens filters. Maybe other improvements in the works later, but I like history and Nostalga.

    Belanger heaeders

Where did you dyno your car? That is, did Bellanger do the dynoing, or did an independent shop do it? Thanks.

Exhaust: crossover out with stock muflers

Okay, so the Mopar headers allow elimination of the crossovers, and are quieter than the other headers? How about fit? Can they be installed without welding?

    Belanger heaeders

Has anyone here had any experience-good or bad- with the Belanger headers. I understand they are easy to install and are true bolt-ons which eliminate the crossover pipes. Anyone have any problems with the jet coat peeling off, or welds coming loose? Are these 40 horses worth $3K or more? Any...

    Two questions about headers

Robbie, good answer. I shortened my question due to keyboard problems, but I've been told by someone knowledgeable that SRT10 owners do not modify these cars as the GTS owners used to do. The suggestion was that the GTS's were made more valuable with the mods, but that the SRT's are...

    Two questions about headers

First, what percentage of SRT10 Owners have added headers? Second, how does this affect resale value? I realize these are two unrelated questions, so no flames, please, about whether it matters. Thanks!

    tachometer malfunction

I'm not sure, but I think the CPM is the computer module. The cluster is the first thing they change; if that doesn't fix it, they change the CPM. If you're still in warranty, go for it; that is NOT NORMAL-you can't tell you're at redline until the motor shutsdown! No way to run a racecar....

    tachometer malfunction

DC says I need a new CPM, and they are sending one under warranty. That must be the bottom line. Thanks for your comments.

    tachometer malfunction

The local vipertech replaced the "cluster" for the tach because at rpms anywhere above 5,000 the needle stops and jumps, rather than sweeping in a smooth arc. The new cluster didn't help. Does anyone know what I can suggest that he do to fix the tach in my 05 SRT? Thanks.

    Personalized Plates

I'm going way back to "D500VPR". The old 50's biggest engines in Dodges were D500's.

    DIY oil change

Ron, I am OVERWHELMED! Your help has been a Godsend. I've just ordered the four piece exension kit for use with my Viper and with my daughter's '06 Charger R/T (with SRT8 hood and air foil) and Road and Track Suspension kit. This is sooo cool to have these pieces to fit my 6500 ramps...

    DIY oil change

By the way, Ron was prophetic in referencing the tendency of the speedy changers leaving an old rubber gasket on the engine; I found TWO gaskets on the old NAPA filter I removed. The top one was way thicker than the one permanently attached to the NAPA filter, so I wonder how it had been on...

    DIY oil change

The oil change was easy, thanks to you guys. I'll try to rig up my ramping a little better next time. Ron, where did you get the black additions you had to extend your yellow ramps? What are they made of? I can use 2 x 6's, staggered in length, but yours sure looked easier. Thanks again, everyone.

    DIY oil change

RON!! You da mane! That's what I'm talkin' about, photos and explanation, right down to the 14mm wrench and 1" box end. Even the 25 ft lb torque wrench setting for the plug. Did I say thanks? I have the same type of ramps, and will use 2 x 6's to ramp up, as necessary. I do have the low...

    DIY oil change

No flame perceived. That's good advice to a novice. I've changed oil in many mopars, but I just gotten this car and haven't had it on a rack or jacked it up yet. I changed the oil for my daughter's '06 Hemi Charger R/T last weekend, so I know oil drain plugs can be different. My slant six is...

    DIY oil change

Good. Now for the second part of my question: do I have to remove the skid plate to access the drain plug? My local shops don't all have lifts which will fit under my car, and the one that does charges over $100 to do it. I have a Viper jack and jack stands, as well as ramps, so I can do it for...

    DIY oil change

Can I use ramps or jack stands to change the oil in my '05 SRT Viper? Do I have to remove the skid plate to access the oil drain plug? Where is the drain plug located on this engine? Thanks.
