    Dumb Dyno Question

Will a chassis dyno read a higher rwhp/rwt when the stock wheels and tires (runcraps) are replaced by a lightweight roadcourse wheel and tire (SSR's and Kumho 700's) on an SRT10 Viper? I know the engine won't make any more power at the flywheel, but would the chassis dyno reading change...

Just Dynoed against a new Z-06

I have bellanger exhausts with cats, but without crossovers , and chrome moly pushrods and Green filters; otherwise it's stock. My car before reflash pulls 483 rwhp/506 rwt. I'm thinking a reflash will give her about 500 rwhp, or 575 hp at the flywheel.

Who RE-Flashes PCMs? Im Running Rich!

If choosing between vec3 and reflash: if normally aspirated, go with reflash for sure. If Supercharged or turboed, your call, but get a/f ratio very rich, around 11 to 1.

Just Dynoed against a new Z-06

My '05 Viper with Arrow rebuild (25,000 total miles on it) dynoed 483rwhp and 506rwt, on a dynojet. These numbers were verified by another machine in another state. Now, for a reflashed computer and dyno....

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

I first went to FL and dyno tuned. Getting only one h.p. over stock card, I then travelled to GA for 3 days and dyno tuned with Joe Dell. Problem was, the VEC3 unit J.D. tried to tune was defective and wouldn't run smoothly at partial or steady throttle. The most he could get was 490 rwhp, but...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

Thanks, Juli, you're a trueblue VCA member. I find that without the VEC3, but with Greens filters and full Bellanger exhausts it dynoed on the same dyno as before, now at 483.66 rwhp/508.59 rwt. No reflash yet. Maybe soon.....I'm looking forward to the skipshift elimination!

    Timing W/ Vec3

See my thread in performance modifications. Lots of time, work and money, and the VEC3 will be removed. Your results might be better than mine, but yours could NOT be worse. I'd suggest a reflash of your stock CPM (or of a spare CPM), based on dyno runs and A/F ratios you would send to DC...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

It's over. Joseph and I have both given up. He didn't call me today, so I can do no more without a tuner. He had sent me another tune yesterday, installed in a few minutes this morning, but it's about the same as the "medium" card, neither of which are as good as the "bone stock" card. I'm...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

Even though I had decided to turn it back in for a refund, I have given him the go-ahead to keep trying to get her right, but he may have personal business that would interfere with the time he might need to smooth out the cards. He gave me a "medium" card that is driveable, but not very good...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

The second VEC3 ran as stock with the "stock card" inserted and read into the VEC3. But the performance cards, which are to ADD hp and torque, didn't do too well after I added new spark plug wires-which gave it all the voltage the cards had been tuned to. So, it was as I had predicited: more...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

With malice to none, and thanks to all, I have given up on the VEC3. What should have been a good choice turned so sour that I'm just going to do a reflash of my stock computer. My motor is strong already, so it should do well with the reflash, without tuning necessary. Good luck to all with...

It's hot inside my new 06 Coupe

removing the crossover pipes and factory cats and using the entire Bellange system worked wonders down her in Louisiana. Even the side sills are cool enough to put your hand on them and keep it there. Between the factory cats and the crossover pipes being removed, any kind of straight-back...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

Oops, I forgot to thank someone else. Thanks to Sean Roe for replacing the unit and for his support by talking me through the installation of the new hipo card. We are getting closer to running at partial throttle without stumble, but we have more tuning to achieve that. WOT is fine; just...

    Belanger Headers Dyno Results

Bellangers without crossover pipes DO help 100% on the heat issue; even the sidesills are cooler. In fact, you can put your hand or the back of our calf (if wearing shorts), and not get burned. The WOT sound is awesome. I like mine on my "05 (with hiflo cats).

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

Problem solved: defective VEC3. My new one arrived today, and it works like a charm with the "stock" card in it. I had driven home more than 500 miles with the stock card in the old, defective unit. The check engine light coming on (not flashing on and off), spitting and sputtering at times...

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

I'm the lucky owner of the car Joseph tuned, and I want to tell you that this guy has persistence like R. E. Lee. He dynoed the car for 3 hours, and when it later (while my wife and I were returning to Dobbins AFB/NAS to our room, I called him and we met at 10 p.m. for a 7 hour session that...

New Single Blade Throttle Body Installed & Dyno

Most naturally aspirated Vipers and most V8's run stronger between 12.5 and 12.8 A/F ratio, according to the Viper tuners I have spoken with. You need more air if running forced induction, whether a Supercharger or turbocharger, according to those experts. Just passing this along....

    belanger headers and paxton

Lou Bellanger says the Paxton installation will NOT require a change of the standard Bellanger headers' exhaust pipes. The 2.5" pipes will "scavage" better than larger pipes, like a jet engine booster has a pickle inside to REDUCE the exhaust interior diameter of the exhaust to increase the...

    dyno numbers........the king lives

12.7 is what I'm looking for, Joseph. I hope we can get that across the board. Mine seems to dip into the low 11's at times; much too rich for decent h.p. Reggie

Problems with VEC3-no response to tuning

Thanks. I've also identified that the operator did not remove the floormat, which prevented WOT,and the tach artifact was unacceptable. The car was actually run from 1,500 to 5,900 rpms every time, though I'm not sure he calibrated the dynojet with my car's tachometer. If they were out of...

ANyone know the deal with this?

these guys were racing at Texas World Speedway, College Staton, Texas, where Texas A& M is located. It's a 2.9 mile roadcourse and is the best I've ever run, including Road Atlanta. It's the most fun I've ever had with my clothes ON.
