Right front brake caliper seal failed causing me to have no brakes and to experience a small fire. That's three "fluke" incidents this year causing my DNFs.
I was running 25s on tires 30 miles past "junk," and felt like I left two seconds out there. Truthfully I think 22s or 21s are going to be needed. I think I can run those times.
True story: last Sunday I complained about the motor feeling weak. A bad plug wire was found. What a difference! The...
I thought I would post this so you knew what I was up to this year...

Vipers are very robust cars. I raced a 2004 in SCCA's T1 class for several years. Touring 1 requires the car the be pretty much stock with some suspension mods. Maintenance on the car was a joke compared to the C5 Corvette I ran before I jumped to the Viper. Brakes lasted 4 times as long, rotors...
#1 was on the initial test of my 2004 T1 car at Heartland Park, June 2006. Lance Knupp was driving and towards the end of the first session the car snap-hooked into the wall entering the "auto cross" section of the track (don't remember turn numbers at HPT anymore).
#2, same car, 2009 Run Offs...
I've lost 2, maybe three, over the years. I never gave it a second thought because my failures were always on race cars, and thought the stresses of the track caused the problem. Maybe not.
All,
I have a Gen 4 oil pan and pickup modified for Gen 3 use listed in the classifieds.
Also listed is a still-in-wrapping Racelogic traction control system that includes Launch Control.
If you're looking for a CF Gen IV hood, I have a pin on one that's brand new, never installed. It does have a Viper red wrap on it, but that can be removed rather easily.
My ACR-X is available for a killer price. It's chassis #42, which was owned by Billie Grupp originally and driven by Alan Johnson in the MMP celebrity race. $105,000 ready to go.
I need some guidance...
I have a full set of K1 H-beam connecting rods, Diamond forged pistons, and a crankshaft that I need to sell. The piston set has 1-2 that have some skirt scuffing, enougg that I would replace them, but otherwise the rotating assembly is in very good condition.
What's a...
Don't know the details of the GT2-spec Porsches. But I have been told there are faster slicks available out there than the Michelins we used in Viper Cup; those are endurance tires and pretty hard.
STO cars have been added to the GT2 class. The two groups are made up of very similar cars, Porsche 996 & 997s in STO and GT2, Vipers and Corvettes in STO, tube-frame full racecars in GT2, etc. There was a difference in tires; GT2 allows slicks, STO required DOTs.
Now the two classes are...
TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 7, 2012) -- In an effort to strengthen the GT2 class, the SCCA Club Racing Board announced the classification of Trans-Am Series Class 2 cars as well as many former Super Touring® Over cars.
To accomplish this, the current GT-2 spec lines have been revised for 2013. These...
