First Viper, PPI tomorrow few questions.
We used to have to be VERY careful with detonation with 91 octane. And - if the fuel has sat for months - it degrades at about 1 point per month, as well. Get some good fuel in there and carry some octane boost. DO NOT lug the engine or slam the throttle down in 5th gear - that'll be the...- Janni

There's nothing special about the 96 motors- although I personally LOVE the lumpy cam in 1996-1998. There's no such thing as a GT-2 motor (would that be the 1998 GT-2 commemorative edition? Only thing "different" about that one was that is had smooth tubes to advertise 460 HP) GTS-R parts on...- Janni

What would you Bring? To an Enduro
Extra radios, lotsa ice and drinks, impact gun, spare front and rear tire, nitrogen tank for the jacks, duct tape, obviously all necessary fuel (figure out which jugs / spouts pour the fastest unless you are required to do 2 10 minute stops, etc) We brought all this and more to the 8 hours that...- Janni

Finished Street Legal Comp Coupe - PICS
He answered it in another thread. He started with a 2006 coupe and added the CC body work. It's WAY easier to do that way then the other. Getting the rear hatch to work and be made of glass was a lot of fabrication, as was hanging the CC body panels on a stock car.- Janni

Think about $25K in CC body parts. fabrication to mount them all. Finish and paint. And figuring out what to do with the trunk area...... And then - you'll have a Lexan rear window where you can't get to the trunk, etc., unless you do serious reconfiguring to be able to use the stock rear...- Janni

Viper has to make money. Period. D-C has never been able to "quantify" the halo effect of the car and allow that number to be used to count in the profitability. The marketing folks don't have a clue - i.e. the car never gets used in advertising and in fact, they see it as a drain - MUCH...- Janni

WHY does anyone think that D-C would announce a newer, faster, higher HP Viper at VOI when there are MANY NEW UNSOLD 2005's sitting at dealers in addition to the unsold 2006's? There are HUGE incentives on SRT-10s - something that has NEVER been done in the past. SRT-10 convertibles are...- Janni

MovIT Braking System much better than stock SRT-10 ??
I have stock SRT-10 rotors on the Comp Coupe that were installed in July of 2005 for the fronts and September of 2005 for the rears. They are only beginning to show any signs of surface checking that might snag a fingernail. At $89 each - I would have a hard time justifying spending any more...- Janni

And how does the rep say it is "far superior"? The STOCK SRT-10 brakes are on the Comp Coupe and they take sessions and sessions of abuse and stop our heavy cars ON A DIME. With 60-0 distances UNDER 100 feet, fade free performance lap after lap - your "rep" better come up with something REALLY...- Janni
