    A V8 Viper?

Wouldn't be the first Viper with a V8. The first prototype from 1989 had a 360 Chrysler V8. The "Defender" Viper from the TV series also had a V8 engine. But a true Viper just wouldn't be a Viper without the V10 powerplant... :2tu:

    1992 Viper For Sale

GLWS! Nothing beats an original, unmolested first Gen. :2tu: Hopefully the next owner will drive the Viper regularly. That's what these cars were made for...it's a shame if they're just parked and stored away.

Changed my battery now my 94 won't start

Also, before you take it for a spin, the computer needs to relearn the gas position, so while the key is in the on position (but not running), depress the gas pedal about 6 times slowly all the way to the bottom. That tway the computer will know what full throttle is.

    Flip-up style stereo unit

I think that's correct. The Gen I Vipers had the stereo under the HVAC controls.

    94 battery replacement

In my Gen2, it's behind the wheel well on the drivers side, like RT/ED said...the main reason why they put it there is for weight distribution. But if they would have made an access panel in the trunk for it, it would be much quicker to get too.

    Less powerful brake :-(

Did you ever change the brake fluid? Is there air in the system? Might be a good idea to flush the system with new fluid - maybe the brake pads are glazed? Try a few hard stops to heat them up and then drive a bit to let them cool off. But generally, the Viper needs a bit more force on the pedal...

99 GTS Side Cat and Muffler Delete

Just realized that you're not deleting the rear muffler, so it shouldn't be that loud...

99 GTS Side Cat and Muffler Delete

It will be pretty loud with just straight pipes all the way through. I deleted the rear muffler and put some bullet mufflers in the side. Also running magnaflow high flow cats. Plenty loud for me, but everyone has a different ear for volume :) Any exhaust shop can weld in the pipes that you need.

    Just arrived!

....that is good advice from denniskgb! With the rather rough roads in Italy, you don't want to be caught unprepared! And by the way, if you don't like the sunvisors, they are easy to remove with just two small screws on each side. I take mine off in the summer, because they drive me bonkers :)...

    Classic Muscle vs Modern Muscle

Not even sure if you can call the Gen1 a modern muscle car anymore... The black one in the pics looks nice. :2tu:

Gen II and Gen III/IV Comparison

Power wise, there is not a big difference between the Gen2 and 3...the Gen2's were underrated and come quite close to the Gen3 in power. In terms of reliability, they are pretty much bulletproof as long as you do regular maintanance. Brakes on the 2002 Gen2 come with ABS, so they should perform...

Well, I finally got my gold Forgestars. Flame away...

The ketchup and mustard Vipers didn't tickle everyone's fancy, but I think it's a unique colour combo. That last pic looks really good. The gold pinstriping is the only thing that I would change.

Salt is gone!!! DelMarVa Lets Roll!!!!!

Just got some snow here in Vancouver today :( Funny thing is that they dumped about a Billion tons of salt on the streets yesterday when we had +8 degrees Celsius in the morning...then today when in snows, they don't salt the streets....makes me wonder who drives the salt-trucks.....

Front Brakes for a 1999 GTS

Since most pads are for various applications, these wires can be cut off. They are for cars which have the computer sense if the brake pads wear down....when the wear mechanism makes contact with the negative grounded brake rotors, a signal is sent to the computer and you will get a warning...

Well, I finally got my gold Forgestars. Flame away...

I've always liked gold wheels...Forgestars look great! Gold pinstriping along the white stripes isn't exactly my thing. I would put some white or black vinyl pinstriping over the gold to cover it, but the rest looks great :2tu:

How much better are the 01-02 ABS brakes

I guess driver skill plays a big part here as well as tires. In the end, ABS is an extra safety feature, but in most driving, you will never notice a difference. Most professional race cars don't have ABS, even the high tech F1 cars can do without it. They rely on the right tires and the driver :)
