Anybody driving as a group fro TX?

There are a group of us from Dallas who are thinking about driving. Probably going to make it a two-day affair - leaving on Saturday and arriving Sunday. When details get finalized they should be posted on www.northtexasviperclub.com

please make this drivers side floor mat stop moving ! ! !

I agree, it looks like a clean solution and not too expensive. I have the same problem with my drivers floor mat and am considering ordering a pair myself.

Should I be scared to drive this thing??

Much good advice here. There are so many variables to driving the Viper: tire temperature and pressure, street temperature, tire wear/age, road surface adhesion, it all is a big mix and it changes constantly. Since you can't just drive in a straight line all the time, you need to learn how and...

    SRT Experience?

I went after getting a free session when I purchased my 300C SRT8. This one day session will just give you a taste of driving the various cars. If you have ever been to a multi-day driving school, the SRT Experience will feel quite limited. Not saying it wasn't fun, but the driver educational...

Which side sill screws to use?

I did the side sill mod outlined in the Illustrated Upgrades using the rivet nuts. Great mod if you pull your side sills very often. I figured larger sheet metal screws would just fall out again over time plus the cost of fixing/replacing a rear tire after you run over one of those screws made...

    Central Texas Drive this weekend...

I posted a reply to this thread in the SRT area, but thought I would copy the reply to this thread also.... A group of us (about 8-9 vipers) from the North Texas club will be down in that area this weekend - Marble Falls/Fredricksburg. We normally would do the Willow City Loop, but I see now...

    Central Texas Drive this weekend...

A group of us (about 8-9 vipers) from the North Texas club will be down in that area this weekend - Marble Falls/Fredricksburg. We normally would do the Willow City Loop, but I see now that is not in good shape. Any recommendations?

Your kids and your viper !!

Any car is as deadly as a loaded gun. Granted, the Viper may be the 44 magnum and any other car a 22, but either can wreck your life after a poor decision. If a kid is going to be irresponsible or succumb to peer pressure in Viper, I would also worry about any other car he/she drives.

Your kids and your viper !!

I would agree. One of the hardest things for a parent to say is NO. Parents want to make their kids happy, see the joy on their faces, but it is the parents responsibility to determine the limits. That responsibility rests on your shoulders and is certainly not to be taken lightly. We all have...

New Viper Owner - Did I make a big Mistake???

Also, the North Texas Club is in the process of organizing a track day at Motor Sports Ranch in June. Come to the meeting for more details and to sign up.

    SRT Fluids Maintenance

I would love to see this added to your Fluid Maintenance chart. I have and do use it for my RT/10, and could use the info for my SRT/10. I probably need to go out and buy the service manual, like you mentioned.

    Just Wrong!

Actually, it could be taken as a compliment. Why else would the marketing people pick a Viper to line up against unless everyone knows it would kick butt. They needed to make a point that their turbo product would turn a loser into a winner - you certainly wouldn't make that point if you...

    She's a leakin!

Re: She\'s a leakin! I was having some coolant leaks and could not find the problem either. Chuck Tator recommended that I go the the local autoparts store and rent a cooling system tester. You pressurize the system and then you examine for leaks. Found a slow drip from a radiator hose clamp...

Difficulty of replacing header gasket on driver's side?

Re: Difficulty of replacing header gasket on driver\'s side? I did the same thing you are describing with my Belangers. You need to get to the lower bolts from underneath. I have a four post lift so it was pretty easy. You could probably do it with a jack and jack-stands but it would definitely...

    Belanger header gasket replacement needed

Same here. I used the Belanger gaskets and a few months later developed an exhaust leak. Header bolts had loosened over time - I should have re-torqued then after a couple of heat cycles. Replaced with stock metal gaskets - no problem.

question for guys who have done heads/cam

Cam takes adds quite a bit on top of that. A lot of parts come off the front of the engine. I had to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the front of the engine up for the cam to clear the AC condensor, unless you want to break the seal on the AC system - which I wanted to avoid.

Dallas/Ft.Worth TX Viper owners - Need some advise....

There are some places I would not want to drive a Viper. Neither would I want to leave a Viper in the parking lot at the airport if I had to leave town. There are a couple of days each winter when the roads ice up that driving ANY car is dangerous, much less a Viper. All in all, I would...

Stainless steel brake lines - who's do you like?

Re: Stainless steel brake lines - who\'s do you like? Seen a couple. Some are just SS lines with the right fittings on the ends. I like the Stop Tech kit the best. They come with integral brackets as part of the lines so they are routed cleanly to the brake caliper. No need for cable ties, etc.

    multiple vipers

There are several guys, I would guess about 6-8, in our club (North Texas), including me, who have two Vipers.

Fastest I have Driven my Viper

I just read through this entire thread and frankly I know that there must be a whole lot of people who just aren't speaking up. Where are all those guys who give out the sage advise to those who happen to post they just got a speeding ticket with "Don't speed if you don't want a ticket"? And...

    Storing RT/10 hard top

I did that ladder rack trick also for my hardtop. I also added a pair of eye-hooks on each side near the top to which I attach a bungie cord to keep the top tight against the wall. I bought the bungie cord that Home Depot sells with the plastic hook on each end so there is no danger of...
