Re: What\'s your thoughts on garage queens?
We are all individuals with the ability to self-direct our lives. People find different ways to stumble through the maze of life in search of happiness and if a car in the garage does it for you, then do it. Who am I to judge?
I got the impression that the Viper was not included in the Car and Driver article was that it was not expensive enough. I guess that in itself says a lot about what we have as Viper owners! It probably would have been embarrassing to have the Viper standout in performance against all those...
I haven't had a front plate on any of my cars since 1995 and I have never been issued a ticket. I have had several occasions when I have been pulled over by a police officer for some other "minor infraction" and the officer never even has mentioned the fact that there is no front plate.
Now...
This has happened on quite a few early SRT10s. Happened on my 2003 at 500 miles. There was a recall on the power steering pump or rack, I believe. Was this performed on yours?
Agreed! An very nice summary of the weekend and an excellent time! KC Viper club did it well!
PS - Congrats on your outstanding time on the autocross, Bill!
Do you think it was defective speakers or over-driving the amp into distortion? You mentioned that you needed to turn it up higher due to the lower efficiency of the Polks. May long term low levels of distortion is what affected the speakers. As somebody mentioned replacing the speakers will...
When I pulled my intake (Gen2) I used a wrench and removed the connection at the intake manifold. Took a little while since due to the tight fit, you can only turn the nut one flat at a time. Maybe it is easier on a Gen 1. For the quick disconnect, you need a special fuel line quick disconnect...
As with a lot of the systems, the post installation tuning is what makes or breaks the car. Since you use the VEC2 , I assume you provide some generalized program profiles, but how do you see the self-installer getting the maximum out of this system?
Re: How many
The corporate idea of a special edition is to increase sales. With a minimal additional cost, DC can boost interest and sales in a low volume car production line like the Viper. Just seems like every time you turn around, there is another special edition SRT10 coming out.
I...
Re: I am having a hella of time taking off my crank damper...need advice...
I pulled mine off last year just as you described you are doing. (I may have used some penetrating oil.) No issues. When I replaced it, I put on the Sean Roe crank pin kit. Maybe the dowel pins are frozen as you suggested.
How many \"special\" editions have there been?
How many SRT10 special editions have there been?
1. Black Mamba
2. White Mamba
3. Silver Mamba
4. VCA Special Edition (Yellow/Black)
5. Copperhead
6. Commemorative Special Edition (White/Blue)
Did I miss any?
All this in just 3 years of...
Re: [******] Has Customer Arrested
JH is posting on the 300C SRT8 forums. Evidently, he is making aftermarket rims now.

Re: Sound systems in RT/10\'s ??
AJT and others - I would be interested to hear how you routed the wiring to your replacement trunk amps. I was thinking about upgrading the amp and speakers but thought it might be easier to locate the replacement amp under the passenger seat to avoid having to...
I think you need to get this to go along with it...

Re: EBC Green Users on SRT-10\'s- please read
My EBC Greens squeal only at a certain moderate pedal pressure - very light pedal pressure and they are quiet, harder pedal pressure and they are quiet. But when they do squeal it is very annoying. I did not have the rotors turned when I installed...
I removed the cam in my Gen2 with a single jack after unbolting the engine mounts, but the cross member was removed. I had about a half inch of clearance before the cam hit the AC condensor. (I had to unbolt the top of the AC condensor and lean it forward a bit to clear the cam from the engine.)
Re: Eibach\'s and Koni adjustment = GOOD!
Hey Kurt, about time! You've had your Eibachs way longer than I have, and I have had mine on for months!
Did you check to see if you needed an alignment after the install?
I put a second strut on my RT after I added the Mopar wing and found that the trunk would slam shut with the new added weight of the spoiler. I installed the second strut just as you described - flipped the template and no problems. Alternatively, there may be a replacement strut with a higher...
I would tend to agree that the Gen3 beats Gen2 performance (and I am speaking to total performance, not just HP). I own a Gen2 and an SRT/10. What I do find is that after driving the SRT/10 I tend to get less "aware" (maybe a little more sloppy?) when I jump back in the Gen2 because the SRT is...
