Good Luck; I agree with many on this board, I was a novice when I bought my first viper. When I bought it it wouldn't rev past 3000rpm, they installed new spark plugs changed the oil....400 bucks! No difference. The mechanic suggested the cam shaft must have slipped a tooth and would have to...
I imagine the paintjob cost a pretty penny (great way to lose $50k between paint costs and reduction of cars value).[/QUOTE]
I would imagine the owner who did this was doing it for himself and didn't think about having to sell it. :nono:
He has limited potential buyers with this "unique"...
I would add to the other suggestions is to take along some of your favourite tunes, if you are not rushed I would avoid the interstate hwys and take in the scenery.:smirk:
Interstate driving cramps my leg up (no cruise control...) :(
Also, in 0.5 seconds at 7000 rpm your pistons go up and down about 50 times. You aren't fast enought to respond. None of us are. That's why missed shifts are typically not good.
I know the 2004 has a rev limiter (first hand experience :omg:)Can someone tell me if my 2001 has that...
Totally agree with Scott. Chuck helped me long distance with my first Viper in diagnosing a plugged cat problem. Recently ordered a DRL module for my 01.(Very competive price!) and he threw in a Chuck Tator T-shirt. All the best Chuck!
In my opinion if you are interested in keeping the car there seem to be an abundance of vipers with salvage/rebuilt titles, and are valued less than what it will cost you to fix the one you are looking at. Look for one that has already been rebuilt.
Well I sent a deposit off tonight! Hope to pick it up Nov 6th. I would like to thank Sam Goldfarb for looking at the car for me. Lucky for me he had his own hoist and was able to give the car a pretty thorough inspection. Way more than I expected! Thanks again Sam. I hope I can meet you in...
Wow, this is incredible how fast members have responded, I have 2 willing to look at it, one has a hoist he is willing to put it up on....will post the results/verdict when I hear.
I have found a Viper for sale in the Columbus, Ohio area and hope a Viper member in this area could go and look at it for me. Would appreciate someone being able to verify condition before flying down to inspect/purchase. PM me for info. Thanks
