    Battery

On many cars, the Optima will not fit properly and requires bending the tray down and some modifications. We also have used Odyssey batteries that are much smaller and lighter. It is a completely sealed dry cell battery. They work well. Mounting requires some modifications. If there is enough...

    scratched valve covers

If I were you, I would powdercoat them to match. Powder coating is durable/tough, has decent temperature protection, and should not chip like paint does. You should be able to get them powdercoated for around $150 for the pair. I just got my valve covers and extrude honed intake powdercoated in...

    Mopar "Street" heads

Re: Mopar \"Street\" heads GREAT QUESTION! We, APEX Motorsports, use the MOPAR heads on our LETHAL 600 and, soon the be announced, LETHAL 650 packages. The MOPAR heads are superior to the stock heads and we choose them for the following reasons: 1) They provide better cooling over the stock...

    HIGH FLOW CATS

There are a variety of after-market and 'high-flow' catalytic converters. However, there are less manufacturers. Many products come from the same manufacturer with different private-labels. Also, keep in mind that some may flow well, but may be made with lesser-quality materials/substrates and...

    Mopar "Street" heads

Re: Mopar \"Street\" heads 1BADGTS- You bring up some excellent points. I don't think I said the MOPAR heads necessarily made more horesepower, I just said, once modified, we have found that we can get more flow from them than stock modified heads. Like others, we have found that the limitation...

    Mopar "Street" heads

Re: Mopar \"Street\" heads We have flow tested stock intakes, and extrude honed and modified intakes both on and off heads. Our testing results indicate that the MOPAR heads take more advantage of the flow of the intake.

compound took off my clear coat. help!!

If the clearcoat truly has been burned through, then there is no wax/protectant to fix this. Your only bet is to apply another clearcoat layer to the entire body panel. If the clearcoat has not been penetrated, but maybe a slight buffing/compond mark as you mentioned, you may be able to fix it...

    Dyno Jet Influencing

Great points 1BadGts!! And there are even MANY more factors to consider. That's how we tested the before and after CORSA system on a 96 RT/10. Runs were about 2 hours apart. Car never left the dyno lift. Temperature was within 2 degrees and engine temp within 5-10 degrees. This is about as...

What is your best dyno on your viper

Everyone should keep in mind that all dynos are not necessarily created equal. First of all, there are several different types of dynos. Within the same type, each dyno can give different readings. Even the same brand of dyno can give different readings. The readings are only as accurate as the...

    Cat Removal-How & What?

We have experimented with the effects of stock cats, 'high-flow' cats, and no cats on my 98 GTS and my 2001 ACR. He are the pros and cons we noticed: PROS (no cats): More hp/tq (9-14 rwhp and 7-10 rwtq over stock cats) Side sills are cool by comparison Flames (can be pro and/or con) Sounds...

My Belanger headers are pealing!!! (pics)

Since some header manufacturers do not use all stainless hardware, the bolts, washers, and nuts do have a chance of rusting. They still work and are strong, but don't look as pretty. In addition to the option of having 2000 degree Black coating on headers we sell and install, we also now...

My Belanger headers are pealing!!! (pics)

We just installed the CDI/APEX headers with Jet Hot 2000 and it looks great in black with red valve covers and intake. We will be installing all Viper headers with 2000 Black Jet Hot.

My Belanger headers are pealing!!! (pics)

The coating on your headers should be covered under the Jet Hot/HPC warranty, which ever manufacturer was used, and they should be able to blast any rust present before re-coating. You are not the only one who has experienced cracking/chipping with the 1300 degree coating on various Viper...
