This is a bit off-topic, but as you know the humbucker sound of a Les Paul (Eg. Slash or Duane Allman for two extremes) is quite a bit different from the single coil sound of a Fender (Eg. Clapton or Buddy Holly for two extremes).
Problem with the big hair bands/spandex groups is that they were...
Actually, I meant the cost of the audio/video installation...and a photo of the car from the outside.
Great DVD for the road....ZZ Tops Greatest Hits on DVD. The sound is mixed very well with accurate placement of instruments and not over saturated.
Now let's see the car from the outside.
I feel like Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs have replaced Lawrence Welk for me since his untimely death at 103. I also tend to like accordian music or someone who plays the comb (not fine tooth comb either; I mean the real deal.
Another road song is "Chosen One" by A2 (it is used as the theme for...
Mike:
You bailed on me: what is a ballpark (range if you like) for the installation? Man, that is really a fine car. Are we going to see wheels and tires and be told of the other tricks?
The Corvette people say that the SRT-10 sells very well in Appalachia; so I would assume that Blue Grass is de rigeur for Viper cruising in that locale.
(OMG...my world is ending around me. I am hoping that you do not see your SRT-10 as bling).
Somehow, I do not think I would cruise about with rap playing...the song style should reflect the car...Bentley and opera....Mercedes and pop classical...BMW and jazz...Corvette and disco...SRT-10 and...
Dmitry:
I believe Chris was illustrating that there are numerous ways to approach an SRT-10 and the spinners was an illustration as to one extreme.
Did Mike mention whether he had either Sirius or XM?
BTW: The DVD screen is not solely for watching DVDs; perhaps he will discuss that part further.
Mike:
You might want to ask Daniel Lesser (FinalGTS) if he has any of those stainless steel allen bolt sets for the dash. The black screws get chipped, and with the MGW parts, the stainless screws look very nice. A very inexpensive dress up item.
Re: Har Top for the 2003-2005 SRT
JonB was offering a possible group-buy prior to Xmas.
Several of us were considering buying the roof (or Vmania's equivalent) but when the Coupe was forthcoming, we all stopped to see what was being released by the factory.
From the latest issue of Guitar Player:
Daune Eddy - "Ramrod"
Blind Faith - "Can't find my way home"
Dave Brubeck - "Take Five"
Dick Dale - "Misitlou"
Eric Clapton - "Cocaine"
Van Halen - "Eruption"
Radiohead - Paranoid Android"
Mike:
Please post details of the installed system you have already shown. I see that Crutchfield et al. has numerous mobile video units. I am gathering that you see the car as a long term hold (maybe not?), but I would like to see the engine compartment, the car lowered, etc etc.
Show us...
I hope that Mike can be encouraged to return and post more about his Mamba. He has done some very cool mods covering a range of aspects of the vehicle. This may have been a test post to determine if SRT-10 owners wanted to see more of his creativity. In the past, he shared with me some of his...
The cover of "Wonderful Tonight" on the 24 Nights CD is extremely good.
Clockwork Orange was a strange soundtrack, but it was an even stranger movie. Films like that are sadly no longer made.
I put the Time-Life History of Rock and Roll collection on my iPOD (~1300 songs from 1945-79). There...
One of our most trusted vendors who sells flywheels suggested that I steer clear if the car is a grocery getter. To paraphrase him: pulling away from an intersection is more complex since there is less flywheel inertia to move away in slow traffic.
Just repeating what I was told when I...
I was riding in the Mamba with my 9 year old. I realized that he could not see over the dash. I remarked that it was difficult to understand why he liked riding in the Viper when he could not see much of anything. He replied "I like to listen." He has four SRT-10 models that he races on the floor.
Mike:
After several discouraged the B&M and Hurst shifters, I merely bought the shortened shifter from MGW and set aside the Mamba shifter. You can cut down the stock shifter, but the MGW is a faster route, and George also makes one even shorter requiring their bezel (their regular short...
