David:
Steve indicated that he did not keep the parts bag. I am going to a Dodge dealer tomorrow (hopefully) for other needs* and shall get you the part number.
[*is a seized engine a bad thing?"
May I attempt to put this to rest:
a. The Viper of any generation is a terrible car, and I, for one, would never own one.
b. The Gen III Viper is truly heinous in appearance, and with its introduction, the fate of Team Viper was sealed. No cars were actually sold after 2002.
c. D-C would...
For me, the Corsa Track has a great sound on cold start. I also like listening to tunes while crusing, but the Corsa Track (with top up) truly does drone. I have discussed this with the Corsa people. It is not a new...concern.
Overall the sound is very cool and so are the door sills...that...
Andrew:
The Viper is obviously not everyone's first choice. It is mine. If a Lambo and the Viper were the exact same price...and the servicing was not so pricey...would I prefer the Lambo...hmmm, likely. Would I prefer an older Lambo to a new Viper. Not I, personally. I personally never...
Inside the front wheel wells, just in front of the "V" to enable jack use, there is a ~4" x 12" piece of plastic.
It is held to the undercarriage by three fasteners...except that two are missing on my car.
Does anyone have a parts list and can tell me the number for these fasteners...
Re: Valentine1 Reading -
Joseph:
It appears that the P.O.P. (II) is worth the upgrade price.
The "J" feature is essential. I am not certain how you drive your Viper without it.
Perhaps you live in some rural State?

Re: Valentine1 Reading -
According to Mike, "J" on the display means that the computer's logic has determined that there is a lot of incoming signals but they mean nothing.
The "J" was selected because it is the first letter of the work "junk."
Even engineers are "funny" or is that a...
Re: Valentine1 Reading -
Joseph:
You do not have P.O.P. on your Valentine 1? Either update or discard it. It serves no function without P.O.P.
Then again, I have no clue as to what P.O.P. is except that Escort can only emulate it.

Re: Valentine1 Reading -
These are three factory fresh Valentine1's with latest software.
All three have done this. It is quite a caccaphony of noise and lights.
I assumed one would appreciate it if high; otherwise, it is simply strange.
I'll call Mike Valentine and ask what it is and...
Valentine1 Reading - \"J\"
I could not find a mention on the Valentine1 site as to why each of my three radar detectors will occasionally go into respiratory arrest and all lights flash and a "J" appears in the display. Seconds later, all is well.
Thoughts appreciated.
Thank you.
Vladi:
OK, here's the deal. We sell you an American Muscle Car, and you learn to calculate in inches.
Seriously, please e-mail the specs in milimeters. Much appreciated.
Alice
There used to be a machine shop here in Atlanta that would machine parts for me; excellent work at minimal cost.
Wondering if you can post the exact specs that you used to shorten the shifter. I would prefer to have the Mamba shift knob shortened rather than buying an aftermarket item.
Thanks...
Andy:
That's what you should do; a 14 year old Diablo for more than the price of a new Viper Coupe. If any of us felt that strongly about it, that's what we would do. I personally would not, but it sounds right for you.
Best,
Alice
Andy:
The Diablo is now priced in the mid 80s?
I think the common frame of reference: "Is the coupe the nicest looking car and best performing car in its price range....both factors..."
Add me to the concurrence list. I would like to see comparisons of the coupe and convertible as the coupe becomes available. I would also like to see why some people are moving to the coupe (I suspect three reasons). I want to see a return to collegial discussions where SRT-10 owners talk about...
Mike:
Sorry, you really messed up your Mamba with that Paxton, endless electrical mods, one-off customizing, etc. I gave you top dollar at $7500 and one of my cats.
Alice
Cris' caution cannot be over-stated. You think you are a good driver...no a great driver...and that aside from the harsh ride that the Viper is "just another American sports car." If you treat it that way, we'll be looking at a salvage title on it in the near future.
Seriously, these things...
Richard:
That's not totally accurate. You can also order a white SRT-10 Coupe with blue stripes everywhere except in the center.
Wait...maybe you were right...
