There are times you cannot watch the shrouded oem display:
1. Trying to stay in the grooves at the strip
2. Watching the comp if bracket racing.
3. Autocross.
You can feel a good shift light. Just an opinion, if you race, your eyes should be on the track.
This is usually an easy task, however, we have no access to schematics, therefore, making the job a little harder. Even if you do not have a need for a shift light this post will also also show how to access switched power, this is needed for other aftermarket accessories.
It is always best to...
Be careful about another pump, when you use anything but a viper fuel pump the bottle does not get filled. You may overcome the fuel pressure/flow issue, however, you will suffer fuel starvation during launch and hard cornering if you have anything less than a 3/4- to full tank. I did a write up...
It could be several different issues, in order of probability here they go:
1. The PCM has not relearned IAT motor position. It takes a little time for the process.
2. The PCM has lost the throttle position. When you turn the key on, slowly move the pedal to the floor and slowly let it up. Do...
The viper is a conventional 45 degree block, however, it does have an asymmetrical firing sequence. Exhaust exit is significant especially when it is rear exit combined with X or H pipes. My G2 with H pipe/rear exhausts sounds nothing like a side pipe car - not close. Go to Utube - "viper at...
I have a Samsung S3 with the droid os. It connects to both the G5 and a 2013 Jeep. The carrier is verizon. The only hiccup was that early on it lost the address book in the G5. Originally the G5 and the phone would communicate about every 15 minutes and it would chime each time. That has stopped.
I am with you, there are trade offs to side exhaust, especially with the V10. I think a catless Balenger with rear exhaust comes close to the V8. Probably that is due to the H-pipe.
The Corsa on my G5 has a deeper sound than the stock system. It is still a V10, but, it as though it went from...
Tone might not be correct word, I believe they said cabin resonance was greater in the SRT with the GTS
Muffler.
The muffler fills almost the full length of thr sill, I was surprised
The problem is it is hard to get the total affect when you record drom a single point due to the side pipes, secondly the sound is way different when you load it up. I am going to the drag strip on Wednesday, I will set up the GOPRO to the rear of the exhaust outlet.
I picked up the car today from. Cora, they were using my car to test their exhaust system. It was not a simple process, they had to try several permutations of the muffler. Everything about their process is high tech and computerized. The sound altering portion of the scheme is also developed by...
I am a licensed thermogapher. I understand what you are trying to say. Convection/conduction is the bigger issue at that location. If I were to insulate/isolate the sensor the temp would drop far more then if I radiant wrapped the sensor.
What are your credentials?
I am thinking about selling my Gen 2. I recently bought a Gen 5 and I am finding it is hard to give them bought the attention they deserve. I will probably post the car this weekend. The car has 25,000 miles on the odometer. Even though is has many mods, all the oem takeoff parts will go with...
Radiant heat transfer is line of sight. I would guess at the front of the engine it is also a combination of conduction and convection. Look at my IR picture (sills) and the hot spot, that is convected heat escaping the containment
[; xQUOTE=PeerBlock;3198596]Pretty sure that the heat soak is...
There is another way of thinking about it, drag racing is harder on a small number of specific parts. Road racing is extremely hard on a whole bunch of parts. You are right though, the viper clutch is the least of our worries. If you understand what causes wheel hop and how to solve that one...
My question was more slanted towards G3 wheels. I need a set of track wheels that will not break the bank.
.[TreeQUOTE=Nine Ball;3198385]G3/4/5 all have the same calipers and same brake and spoke offset/clearance.
