Hood Scoop

Well... maybe not. Take a closer look at where the air comes from. The cross section of that opening is far less than the big "Dodge Grin" opening for the radiator. That is where the bulk of the air comes from that flows into the air cleaner box. IMO, removing the baffle may even reduce airflow...

    AutoForm Hardtop

This is a very nice design! How about a trailer to go with it?

    Hood Scoop

You're right. Only 20% of the intake air comes through the hood scoop. The bulk of this air comes through openings in the forward edge of the hood, and begins forward of the radiator.

    Thank you Dodge!!

More sedate appearance? you bet! I bought my GTS because of how it drove, not because of the appearance. It had all the outrageousness of a Countach without the Italian soul. I found that a good thing, BTW. It had grunt and the handling was excellent in my mind. Two things really bothered me...

    Thank you Dodge!!

I was one of the first to post realistic comments on this board to DCX about what I wanted in the new Viper. I asked for: More sedate appearance Lighter weight better brakes Alcantra seat inserts True roadster design What I got was that and more. The fit and finish is far better than my...

    FOUR Yellow SRT-10's spotted!! (pic)

Fast & Furriest 2? Oh boy- another ricer movie. The first wasn't bad enough, so we need a sequel? While I think a yellow SRT/10 is great, the idea of another "Fastest & Furriest" movie leaves me underwhelmed.

Tight Seat Problem May Have Fix....

Can the bolsters be bent outward like the current Gen II seats? For my GTS, I never needed to strip the seat, just apply some grunt, and the bolsters snugger right up. (Others needed to spread their bolsters)

Changing out the air filters (pics)

It would be interesting to see what happens to the HP/TQ if you take off the filters & resonator tube. I have a hard time believing that 26 HP can be developed by installing a different air filter box. However- if the numbers go up dramatically- that would lend credence to the claims...

Can't forget the most important part! (pic)

Re: Can\'t forget the most important part! (pic) That is exactly what I needed to know. Sounds rather snug. My GTS would swallow one guitar, a Crate CA60D amp, and several small gig bags jammed into the corners. Ah well- practicality was never a reason for this car.

Can't forget the most important part! (pic)

Re: Can\'t forget the most important part! (pic) Two Qs Chris- 1. Can that trunk really hold a baritone horn in a hard case? If so, that is terrific. Will it hold a dreadnaught in a hardshell I wonder... 2. Is that ear wax I see on your key?

Just Received a Gift From D-C:

My book arrived last night as well. Of course my car is still weeks away- (KZ just last week). Reading that book, which covers many of the little design details in the SRT, leaves me even more anxious to drive my New Red Beast. Thank you Dodge!

How many SRT's came with a polished gas pedal?

Re: How many SRT\'s came with a polished gas pedal? I suspect that polish is just more use. Chris seems anxious to get past the break in point.

Two, two - two for the price of, uh, two!

My Red SRT went D1 on Sept 16, and KZ on Jan 17. I hope Ray gets his a little sooner than that! Chris- we are all waiting anxiously for your impressions & photos after the return trip.

My impressions of my Silver SRT #332 ( verylong)

Mmmmm. This is sounding so nice. Bill P called Friday and said mine went KZ- I can hardly wait. I have never so much as seen one at a show- this car is being bought totally on blind faith. The throttle buck sounds no worse than my GTS was. I got the biggest laugh one time letting the dealer's...

    Blasphemy in Detroit! Pics inside.

That was an early mule. No way such a sacrilege should be allowed on a real SRT.

What are some VINs that are getting delivered?

My car (#134) has been in "I" status for several weeks. What does that mean? I don't have a clue, but Mr. Pemberton has given me an educated guess on when it will ship. Those of us who ordered with certs are subject to all the struggles of getting a new line into production. In two years time...

    SRT-10 Book

So... I am hearing that either all of you are so enamoured of your SRT/10s, or something else has you so preoccupied that you don't care... I guess all those visits to Hooters in your GTS's make up for it.

    SRT-10 Book

After calling the number listed, waiting on hold, and answering more questions, I finally got the "scoop" on this. Cert holders need to call the phone number on the cert to request this book. The 800 number listed in the above link is only for those people who want to pay for this booklet. So I...

    SRT DELIVERY

Believe it when you see it. There is a very high FBM* factor with all the dates & build status being passed around right now. Because this is the first year of production for a new design and lots of new fab tools and practices, there are many kinks to work out. As much as I want my red SRT/10...

    SRT-10 re-selling question

I'll tell you why I am interested in seeing one- I ordered one. I'm really excited to see it roll off the Reliable truck, but I would like to see one in person first.

What about the Seattle Auto Show?

The local paper has published specs on the SRT, but has not specifically said it would be there. Anyone know the appearance schedule? I'd sure like to see one before Reliable deposits one in my driveway...
