Slight clunking sound when letting accelerating in first.

Does the top of your shift knob move more than 1/2 an inch to the side when accelerating? If so, it's your motor mounts.

Question on how to flush coolant on a 96 GTS

I've pulled my plug twice. It's made of copper, at least on mine, so it never seized to the radiator. I put it back on with teflon PTFE paste. I guess if yours doesn't budge, don't force it and use the bottom hose only. Now what I could never get out on my RT/10 were the engine block plugs. I...

Anyone else have a hard time finding time to drive your car???

I drive both of mine every chance I get during the season. I thought I would drive the RT/10 less since I bought a GTS, but just the opposite happened. The GTS became the garage queen and the RT/10 has seen more miles this year than ever. This is also the first year I started tracking the...

    Pricing and Options announced today

It almost seems like you pay a premium for the GTS just so you have the option to purchase the best options. Adding up the options leaves close to $10k unaccounted for unless the suspension is actually worth $10k. Some things I don't understand is why can't you get the full stripes on the SRT...

    Hood Paint Bubble?

Unfortunately, no. It's caused by the resin not fully being cured before being painted. This was a problem on a lot of GEN2's. Just don't tear or snag it and hopefully it won't get bigger.

    Gen 1 wheels?

Here's what you'd want to do... This place will widen your rims to whatever you want. In your case you would want to widen your fronts to maybe a 10.5" or 11". http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/

    Paxton tensioner question.

Get the DLM tensioner. The paxton one is a bad design.

What diff gears are best with a 5lb Roe set up?

Do you still have your stock gears? I would go the free route first. But if you don't have the 3.07 and don't plan on going with more boost, get 3.33 or 3.55. If it were me I'd go with 3.33's. I plan on sticking with 3.07 when I get my paxton setup because I'll be running a 10 PSI pulley.

1995 RT10 oil capacity with filter change = 10 qts correct? Help

It's 10 - 10.5 quarts on a GEN1. Every oil change has been about 10.5 quarts on my 94'. It's 10 quarts initially and up to 10.5 quarts once you turn over the system and let the filter and plumbing get filled. 8.5 is the GEN2 capacity.

    Gen 1 wheels?

I guess it's only a little crazy. Look at this thread and you'll get some more input. You can't run 13" up front but there are other wheel choices. 11" would be perfect, but 12" might narrow your lock-to-lock deflection. Remember that if you road race, you lose sidewall strength when...

Autoform Vipers from the 90's and early 2000's

Rather than continuing to hijack the previous thread (http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/656462-Whats-this-(one-of-a-kind)-GTS-worth), I decided to show you all these pics I acquired from Autoform and give you a little history lesson. Before I actually purchased my 94' back in 2006, I was this...

    So I bought Woodhouse mounts.........

The cowl, as you see in the pic above, is that black piece just below the windshield and it's held on by four screws. Simply remove the four screws, remove the wipers, and pull the cowl out. This will allow you to jack the engine even higher. While removing or loosening the headers would make it...

    Yellow Venzano Interior Rocks!

Hey Bruce, I never made the connection that you are you. I'm the one that bought Scott's 98' GTS. Hey, I see you live in Waterford, have you ever been to the track? I plan on going Oct 7th. The pics look good! By the way, your exhaust sounded better on Wednesday with the new cats.

    Gen 1 wheels?

No, that's crazy. Why do you need 315's up front? Even for the track that's ridiculous. I think 295's are the widest most people use, but some have used 305's. I don't think 13" rims will work up front, the offset alone wouldn't work, you'll bind the inner wheel well. There are some...

    So I bought Woodhouse mounts.........

And definitely loosen or remove the cowl or the jacking up of the engine might break it. It will all be worth it when you are done. Remember that the first 500 miles or so will be rough at idle during break-in. It will get better later. My GTS has gotten about 700 miles and it's still not fully...

Paying Cash, Financing, or Can't Afford It

Yes, the hood gaps are finally looking good in the latest pics. I was saying $130K+ is in the stratosphere when you compare it to the 2010 top model price of $110K and we haven't even seen the price of the new ACR yet. My rule is always pay cash for toys. But my wife won't let me. :(

Because sometimes it's fun to stare at Trainwrecks...

I thought I would share this, some never had the opportunity to see a Vettper. It's like a trainwreck, you don't want to stare but you can't look away. I was at Cobo Hall where these pics were taken and it's worse in person. Notice how the owner bashes the styling cues of the very car he is...

Whats this (one of a kind) GTS worth?

I've seen the RT/10 version of this car before. These were actually modified by a reputable company (can't remember the name) but these never took off and as far as I know, they are one-offs, built to show off what the company could make. Right now the body kit actually devalues the car, and...
