    3 Chrome and 1 Aluminum

I'll have to take some pictures so you can see what's really going on, but I definitely want to restore the clear coat. I had Aluminum TTII wheels on my '68 Corvette for 10 years and I hated trying to keep them looking good. The three good wheels on the Viper take a few minutes to clean...

I'll try to post a picture later tonight. So assuming the the clear coat was stripped off, what are my options? thanks, ~Jay

    3 Chrome and 1 Aluminum

That's what my wheels look like. Three of them shine like chrome when they are clean, but the 4th one looks like an old neglected polished aluminum wheel. They are the stock wheels on an '04. Do you have any idea what might be going on with that one ugly wheel, and how I can fix it...

    Homelink options?

15 years ago I wanted that type on integration in my '96 Maxima. What I did was buy a cheap little square button and wired it into the garage door remote which I kept hidden inside the dash. I mounted the button on a little blank plate that was on the dash near the steering wheel column. I...

    Viper-Spec PS2s???

What exactly is the difference? I would hate to have a pedestrian super car tire when a non-pedestrian alternative is available!

My system will use: JVC NT3HD navigation unit Arc audio mini 4 channel amp under the seat Alpine PXE-H660 processor backup camera - BOYO VTK200C JL component speakers, and possibly a JL sub if it will fit. They are installing a 2 USB...

    Fair offer?

Just curious, why can't you drive it? I drive mine to work several times a week, I run errands, I even drove it to pick up paint at Home Depot. It's always a joy to drive, not comfortable, but a joy. What is your daily driver? Is it as fun to drive as a Viper? If so, then maybe you should...

    So I wrecked my Vette...

I agree... I was dropped form an insurance company because of what they read on a forum. We are being watched. Sorry about your car, I know it's a labor of love for you. ~Jay

Buy a Gen 4 or Hold off for one more year?

Isn't the Gen V at least 2 years away? Life's too short to wait that long if you don't already have at least one fun car. What about a low mile Gen III to hold you over for a couple years? A good one can be had for less that $45k. At this point you don't know if the new Viper will be...

Trunk release, other than key fob?

As long as the parking brake is set, you can use the FOB even if the engine is running. At least my '04 works that way. ~Jay

Installing front and rear stereo cameras...Pics....

Next week I'm getting a JVC NT3HDT installed. how important is that magnesium, or whatever it is, on an '04 bracket inside the dash that needs to be cut? My plan is the JVC NAV unit, a couple Arc mini amps under the seat, and an Alpine processor. I really like how you mounted the camera, I...

    SRT10 vs Z4M

That was my thinking too. Was that on Streets of Willow, or the big track? Is it possible that if it was small Streets of Willow track that the smaller car might have an advantage there? Kind of like a Miata doing well in an autocross? ~Jay

    SRT10 vs Z4M

I stumbled upon this video. I assume it's an old Top Gear video. I was a bit surprised at the outcome. ~Jay

Thanks, I'll look into that. I understand why lumbar is needed, but can you explain how adding to the seat bottom helps? thanks, ~Jay

Anyone done cooled seats in their Viper?

You must be one of those guys who likes to dive his Viper. If you just keep it in the Garage on hot days the seats and you will be fine. But if you're one of those rare individuals who loves the Viper enough to drive with the top down on hot days, then you will either need to deal with clammy...

    Viper compared to 69 Vette

I would have to agree, I'm coming for a 500hp '68 Corvette to the '04 500hp Viper. The two cars are very similar in purpose, and discomfort, but the Viper benefits form 35 years of technological developments. Short list of Luxry Items on the viper: Working A/C Waterproof top (for the most...

Thanks, I'll look at the fluid ASAP. Hopefully I didn't burn up the clutch because of low fluid. Thanks also for all the other advice. ~Jay

    slipping clutch

With a healthy clutch, would it ever slip? Or would it just bog or spin the wheels? ~Jay

    slipping clutch

Leaving a stop light in traffic, about 2000 RPMs, in 3rd gear, the traffic started to speed up so I hit the gas hard, but didn't floor it and the RPMs rose but the car didn't go much faster. I eased off and the RPMs dropped to normal, and I smelled burning clutch. ~Jay

    slipping clutch

Isn't it the clutch that connects the transmission to the engine? ~Jay

    slipping clutch

I wasn't sure if it was the tires spinning or a slipping clutch. But today, I accelerated a bit hard in 3rd gear and felt slippage and also smelled a slight burn. Does that mean I need a new clutch? Or are you just not supposed to punch it in 3rd gear at a low speed? Or could it just...

    Ergonomic seats

That's good input. My IS350 has seats that are a great shape and support my back, but they are hard as a rock. It doesn't bother me too much, but for my 105 pound wife, it's like bone on bone. I did see in my search a company that makes mechanical lumbar systems that can be installed in the...
