Hey Dave...I must be misunderstanding you because you are suggesting that I want to install two 6 1/2" subs with one 10" sub. But in fact I was thinking of installing two 6 1/2" speakers and one 10" sub. Am I missing something? :dunno: I'm starting to think that I'm on glue :D
Here is a picture of a speaker setup that was posted in another thread. It looks like there is one sub woofer and two rear speakers. Two speakers and one sub is what I was thinking of installing in the rear.
GTSnake...I'm a green horn :smirk: and trying to figure out what you are telling me. Hope you don't mind answering more of my questions.
So here's what I am thinking of for simplicity:
Front Speakers: 5 1/4" so that I don't have to make any spacers
Rear Speakers: 6 1/2" with (1) 10" sub...
My intentions for a good sounding stereo will encompase the following equipment. Please note that I do not plan on competing with the system. I basically just want a good sounding system. :headbang:

Hey Bob,
I haven't put any sound deadener in the doors as of yet. I will be doing that before I button the interior up. :2tu:
Oh, instead of losing weight just kick the passanger out. Ha ha ha :D
Cheers
Jason
Thanks for the info! :2tu:
So I assume that Pioneer should be able to supply a wiring harness adapter that will plug right into the Viper wiring harness. Is this correct? If not, who do I get something like that from?
In addition, are the OEM speaker wires sufficient for aftermarket...

I really enjoy providing information to anyone if I can help. This project is a learning curve and I thoroughly enjoy discussing the project with members. I am learning alot!
I honestly didn't give the CPE twin turbo much thought. :dunno: I just sent a PM to Paolo and hope to hear back...
Sound Deadener Weight Issue
Here is the scoop on the sound deadener that I installed into my GTS.
Quantity = 125 sq.ft.
Weight = 20 lbs / 50 sq.ft.
Total Weight Added = 50 lbs
(minus) OEM sound deadener - removed from car
(minus) spare tire and tools - removed from car

I am getting ready to purchase and install a new stereo system into my '96 GTS and would like some advice...since I have never purchased and/or installed a stereo system before. Oh, I plan on doing all the work myself and will not be taking the car to a stereo shop.
Where can I find a generic...
SPARE TIRE ISSUE
I asked JonB to comment on the Spare Tire issue. Here are his comments:
"If you have a roll bar or cage, no worry. HOWEVER
Some history: When Vipers were first crash-tested by Fed mandate, it was discovered that the RT/10 TRUNK LID can dislodge in a rear crash. If the...
Thanks very much for the info JonB! :2tu:
My GTS does not have a roll bar and I do not intend on tracking the car. Having said that, is the spare tire a government requirement and/or insurance requirement for safety reasons?
Cheers
Jason
Hey Ron, RAYSIR, KWIK96, Iceman & ViperTony,
Thanks for all the ideas on how to reduce side sill heat temps. :2tu: I was planning on purchasing Roe Racing exaust insulation...but no any more. :omg:
Here's my new plan:
- create air flow into the side sill area by drilling holes at the...
Hey DrumrBoy...here's the pictures you wanted.
I've been told that the cable in the pictures below links both sides of the frame rails for safety in the event of a rear end collision. Please note I have the exhaust heat deflector plate removed and inner wheel wells.
Hey Iceman...maybe I am misunderstanding but I chose Thermo Tec Adhesive Back Aluminized Heat Barrier because of its rating up to 2000 deg. F. Before I installed the heat barrier I made sure to remove all the weld spatter so that it could stick. And it sticks very, very well!
I removed the...
