    Portable Air?

Hi all, if you autox or track your car you know how important getting tire pressures right can be. I don't have a trailer with my own air supply and all that (yet ;) so sometimes I'm hunting down someone's compressor. I've seen some people with small portable tanks that they just fill up before...

One of my favorite upgrades, Engine Pre-Luber & Pressure Accumulator..

Count me in as well. Oil starvation is real in Vipers, and although I already have a fully baffled/deaper oil pan setup, the accumulator is the last piece to the puzzle. Kudos on what sounds like another great product.

Fuel Pump Problem at 15K, comments?

Hi all. I got stranded in Monterey on saturday (I know, not the *worst* place to be stranded but inconvenient nonetheless) because there's something wrong with my fuel pump. You can no longer hear it prime when moving the key to 'on', there's just a subtle 'click' noise. My baby is sitting in...

GOT PACED AT 20+ OVER (long)

Yup, unfortunately there are too many of us with these types of stories. Last weekend at the American Musclecar Challenge there were five of us Vipers caravaning over to the airbase. I happened to be the last one. We were all parked at a red light waiting to turn left at a 'T' intersection. The...

Fred Kinder--were you in Los Gatos last p.m.??

Greg- its not just the motorcycles, its the bicycles! That's why I really enjoy those roads during the week in the evenings. The weekends get kinda packed. You come up on bicyclists going 2mph in your lane around a bend while from the other direction comes a motorcyclist going 100mph also in...

Y So Many Low Miles '00 Vipers 4 Sale?

Re: Y So Many Low Miles \'00 Vipers 4 Sale? I second that ACR Joe! I picked up my ACR in August with 7500 miles on it and I'm already over 14000. I do every ViperDays I can as well as autox's and various other track days. Spending a full weekend at a ViperDays event leaves me with such a 'high'...

Fred Kinder--were you in Los Gatos last p.m.??

Some of my popular routes for my drives are the following: (I live in Sunnyvale) up 280 to Sand Hill, head W turn right off Sand Hill onto a road whose name escapes me at the moment but it has a sign that says "to 35, skyline blvd". turn left onto 84 at the 84/35 interchange you...

Well, I'm finally a Viper owner!

Re: Well, I\'m finally a Viper owner! Welcome to Viper ownership! Fortunately/Unfortunately this is part of owning the car. I'm 26 and get the same 'punk kid' stereotype applied to me on occasion, but I will say that for the most part given the opportunity people are nice. We've all had the...

    SF Bay Area Tech Rep

Not much else I can add, Ted and Rich are the men when it comes to Vipers. Rich takes care of my snake like it was his own. Ted is usually at the driving events and is always willing to lend a hand with any help you need trackside. The only thing people left out is that if you need warranty...

    EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!!!!

BUMP! Its stuff like this that puts the rest of our discussions of headers, 1/4 mile times, etc, into perspective. My check is in the mail along with my best wishes! - Mark ('99 ACR)

What do you get with an ACR for $15K more?

There's always a lot of discussion of whether the ACR is "worth" it or not. I think the real answer is, "it depends". It depends on what you plan to do with your Viper. If you plan to make it an all-out track machine, you'll probably want a stock GTS so that you don't mind swapping out the stock...

    New 2000 problem!

If it is oil puke, I've heard of this happening on earlier years as well. You can install an oil puke can to get rid of that annoying problem. No more smoke, and you won't be cursing that 'tourist' for the hour it takes you to clean your k&n's. Call JonB for more info. - Mark ('99 ACR)

    Viper Days at Buttonwillow?

Well if there's gonna be cones I may make the trip I'm just a newbie but I'd like to meet the rest of you so-cal guys, and it looks like the wheel 2 wheel race is gonna be good. - Mark ('99 ACR)

    Viper Days at Buttonwillow?

Not to stir the pot, but where were you so-cal guys for Thunderhill? I met Ken there last year and was looking forward to some in-person Mumfelberg smack talkin this year and neither one of you showed up! I must say you guys missed a good time, Pemberton lost his pants before we even hit the...

Does the accel pedal come off?

I have snake-oyl's carbon/alum race pedals and I really need to remove the accel pedal to mount the new one to it properly. I just want to remove the part that your foot hits, not the whole shabang. It seems it pivots on a little screw but I couldn't feel a head so it may be a rivot type thing...

Just got my new 2001 RT 10

Greg- The NorCal club meets once a month, generally the first tuesday barring any odd occurences such as presidential elections and such. We get together for dinner at Mama Mia's in Campbell. Its right on Hamilton Ave a few blocks from 17. Its always posted here on the board under the 'regional...

Just got my new 2001 RT 10

Yes Greg, I'm sure it was you. I thought it had the blue 'woodhouse' badge on the rear. Bill Pemberton told me he delivered one in Sunnyvale recently. On your morning cross of El Camino, look for me, I'll be crossing heading the other direction in my black '99 ACR! You should come to the...

Just got my new 2001 RT 10

Did I see you crossing El Camino on Mathilda around 10am last week? It was a 'new' rt/10 and it looked black but it may well have been the new saphire blue - I've been waiting to see that color up close. I second Fred's input and recommend you come to our meeting tomorrow night. There's...

How long should I wait to change whats under the hood?

I've had my ACR now for almost 6 months. I just did my first track event at Thunderhill last week. I can only give you my perspective, though many here will probably agree. The first part of the car to upgrade is "the nut behind the wheel". I don't think its the horsepower thats so amazing in...

Neat Pic from Thunderhill on Sat...

This is from my in-car video which turned out excellent. I'll be converting it to mpg when my video editing card arrives. We should create an archive of in-car video of all the tracks around the country. Here's a neat shot of me behind 2 ferraris, the one in front is a modified black 348, and...

Best 5 Point Harness on the market?

While I have belts already (the ACR uses MOMO belts), I do have a couple points to add. You notice everyone here has mentioned a cam-lock setup. There are two types that I know of, cam-lock and latch-over, definitely get a cam-lock (I'm not even sure if vendors are making new latch-over systems...

    Pinewood derby Viper

Ok, I have a fair bit of expertise in this area (and the trophies to back it up! 1) Unlike the "old" days, hobby shops now carry rough-cut forms of pinewood derby cars in several styles- f1, hot rod, etc. You can also find decal sets, molded ABS wheel ferrings, muffler pipes, etc. 2) Make a...

    Thunderhill March 3-4

I don't think you have to worry. The last time, there was an old 70s TA with a blower out there. If I remember right, he spun out and stalled and had to be towed in. There was also a new 911 TT. I don't think anyone cares as long as you promptly move over and let the Vipers by when they lap...

    Acessories Help!

Just from my experience: I picked up a locking cap (Stant) at the local auto parts store and it works fine, no problems with setting off computer codes (not so however with the Stant on my Durango). I got a set of mats (and trunk mat) from the NorCal club (being a member and all). They are...

    Separate service manual for ACRs?

I just got my 1999 service manual. It says GTS/RT/10 on the front but no mention of ACR. I also don't notice any information inside about the ACR-specific parts such as adjusting the shocks. Am I missing something or did I get the wrong manual? - Mark ('99 ACR)
