Because the peak power is at 5600, because of what Viper X said and because it takes a bit to execute the shift, I usually begin the shift about 50 to 100 RPM below the 5600 RPM point.

My understanding is that the best body panels are chosen for the black Vipers when built...I've heard this from several different sources but never from someone at CAAP, so take it for what it's worth. Anyway, if that's accurate, there's no way your car was built with such a flaw in the hood...

K&N is claiming 14HP, but it seems like the stock set up is pretty efficient. It sounds like your experience agrees that the stock set up is decent. What are you guys running on your car now?
Just like the title says, what's the best bang for the buck in terms of performance:
1) Green filters on the stock air box
2) K&N air box
3) Green filters on a K&N air box?

Thanks for the feedback on the heat. Sounds like the improvement in sill heat was much like removing the cats from my GTS.
