I realized after I said I would do this that a direct comparison between the two vehicles would not be possible because the cars are not identical due to the following:
2000 car: 170 t-stat / no cats
2001 car: OEM t-stat / hi flow cats.
Both cars have 5 pound Roe blowers, Belanger headers...
I have 19" MPS with stock 3.07 gears. The tire OD is 27.4" 2K is 72 MPH (by GPS)...and my Unitrax speed calibration unit.
You need to measure the OD of your tire and then got to an online gear calc. site. My guess is you're not stock.....or .....19" tires were put on and no new speed...
Yup. Your WB is reading all 5 ...open or closed. I wasn't thinkin' straight. The PCM is adjusting for only one tube in closed loop. With mine, that produced an extremely rich condition. I had soot on the floor on start up and tip in. I had one plug on each bank burning good, the rest were all...
I'd would be curious if you are the exception ...or the rule. My guess would be the exception. Fortunately you have the time, and knowledge, to monitor the other cylinders for plug color and/or detonation. Your AFR in closed loop is 13-14 on one cylinder per bank, likely the 3rd tube on each...
Remove 2 bolts from the crank pulley and bolt the jig in...put the recess out, mark the bit at 2.45” and butt this mark at the recess portion of the tool. This will accomplish the same drilling depth as having the recess in and the pulley off. The recess is the thickness of the crank pulley...
The crank pulley does not need to be removed to do this. I used a cobalt bit, air drill, and cutting fluid. It drilled like butter with the cobalt bit.
For me, this was the most time consuming part of the install as I didn't have the right tool to start with. I also found that the 12 o'clock...
We must have an uncommon car as I've never had a leakage problem. This is the 11 season and 90K miles. Our car has seen yearly track time and a couple dozen autocrosses. It's always bone dry back there when I check it.
The OEM battery lasted 7 years and I still have it in the basement as a...
No. Again because it never was too important to know........but now that I've thrown this out there....I'll do it if we ever get another comparable hot day. I would guess that temperature differences should be relative no matter the ambient, but for the purpose of this extremely scientific...
I don't disagree with this statement in general, but I think we could all agree that cooler air makes a gas engine run better
That being said, we have two cars with VECs on them. One with a Vipair, one without. Idling in hot temps, the Vipair car is consistently anywhere from 10-20 degrees...
Not bad mouthing the BEL.....I know nothing about it, but I find some of this post interesting. This is the first I've ever heard of heat problems with V1s. I have 2 and have been using them since 1994 and many 100 thousands of miles in all sorts of temperatures. .....from 40 below zero to over...
As you well know, after 90,000 Viper miles, we couldn't agree more Bill :drive:Steve
I think you just became my hero:headbang:
Thanks. We may have a lot of road miles, but Bill & Diane get the trophy for days on the road / length of trip. That is an enviable accomplishment! ...and they...
I think one of the Viper myths out there is that they are somehow different from other cars when it comes to taking trips. They aren't. You don't need to do any more prep work on a Viper than on any other car you've ever driven. 3,000 miles is nothing for any modern car these days. The Viper is...
OK Ted.... I admit to some bias :)....but I did say MAY BE....not IS. Sapphire Blue is nice, but not for me. SSG is a good one, but not a one year color. The slate was nice and fits the one year criteria I think.
I should also have said 'many' steel gray guys like the gun metal blue color. We...
Just the opposite....in the sun the car looks light gray...like the pic above. the darker the sky / less sun...the darker the color gets. It can also look dark gray....closer to graphite. It very well may be the most unique of the one year colors.
For us steel gray guys....the hue is 'gun...
The colors are not even close when put together. ...Plus the steel gray changes color some depending on sky / sun conditions. In an overcast sky..or dusk...steel gray turns a distinctive gun metal blue. In bright sunlight, it is much lighter than graphite.

Silicon in the tranny or differential is not necessarily dust or dirt. It could be silicon sealer, in which case....not a big deal. Have them do a filter patch test on the sample if they still have it. This happened to me once.

The IAT feature can never be exactly right as relates to the SC intake charged air temp. The charge temp will be considerably higher. However; even though it is not a linear equation from IAT temp to charge temp.......I look at it as a relative number. In other words, there is a correlation...
Hi Eric,
I believe you have my fuel trims for comparison on the back cylinders and base set. I throw misfire codes on the 01 car with stock pcm because of the blower/light flywheel -- not the fuel mixture. I have a 96 pcm on the car that gets the miles, but see no sense spending the money for...
That's ridiculous. We've never had a problem in a parade. In fact, a parade is a much safer place than any parking lot. You're right there with your car.
We have been in many dozens of parades the last 10 years. This will be the 4th year with superchargers. Have never had an issue -- either heat or clutch over the last 85,000 miles.
We ride with our same passengers once a year as well in Twinsburg....where neither the car -- or my brother and...
I believe any code thrown off the front O2s will put the car in safe mode -- compromising performance. My understanding is that if the computer can't get accurate info for adjusting AFR (all input for this done by the front O2s)..... it will default to a very conservative mixture until the light...
Here's a couple of our Bumblebee and a banner we had made for shows. Can't seem to get the banner up as a large picture so to be read easily

I had a little of that going on as well this past winter. I found a place about an hour here that blasted, powdercoated, and cleared my covers for next to nothing ($40 total). They also coated my chrome Roe breathers. No more oxidation on the emblems to shine up.
Peninsula Powder Coating...
