There are standard torque tables for all bolts by size, heat treat and thread pitch. The Service manual has this table near the front. Some applications recommend oiled threads and reduced torque values.
There are usually a minimum of 3-4 contact points for each lamp in the pod. Assuming 3, one will be fixed with some swivel freedom, then you will have one for L/R and another for U/D.
I hunted around for pics and they are kinda scarce. I did find this one that shows some of the works. Looks to me like you'll have to remove at least one closure panel on the backside to see if adjusters are behind. I don't know if the entire housing moves, or if the individual lamps are...
I measured my 11.5 x 17 classics. 11.5" clear face of bead shoulders, just a hair under 13.0 lip to lip outside. There's the easy way to measure them, then there's the Accurate Way to measure them.
The chain oiler is a .032" pinhole off the main oil feed galley to the camshaft. It shoots a 50+psi stream directly on the uphill chain side and the sprocket flings droplets off at the top. The lower sprocket is several inches above the windage tray (like the B-RB big blocks) which extends all...
I'd like to know for sure. I'm trying to decide what inner barrels I need to change to for 275-17s on my 17x 11.5 Classics. They work perfectly for 315s, but I'm not sure I can get the beads to set on the narrow ones. I'm thinking either 9.0 or 9.5 + my 1.5" fronts.
And the outer lip...
That's an AN/NAS bolt. Smaller/lighter wrenching head with precision ground bearing surface underneath.
With a handle of Machtwo, one might naturally expect that you've seen a lot of them.
Congrats on the car! It belonged to Chris Barone out of Jersey - he used to run Viper Days with me WAY back there. He went wheel-to-wheel and I stayed in Time Trial.
The adjuster cam orientation. Look for symmetry. If there is asymmetry, look for other clues about wrecks, or bent parts. The welds all look terrible because of flux-core MIG wire from the frame supplier.
The threads are very shallow to begin with. I believe the wishbones holes are punched and swaged slightly undersize in successive operations. Next, the ball joints are driven in square by machine in a fixture. Previous owner probably got it cross-threaded off-axis to the hole and wallowed the...
You can try some Red liquid bearing mount. If it doesn't hold, or if you have to disassemble at anytime in the future it will require torch heat. That will probably ruin the wishbone and require another.
Could be your vapor canister purge system. Up until around 2000, they were mounted under the drivers's side headlight. A small black plastic line runs along the frame horn and jumps across behind the steering pump. It connects to a tee behind the alternator - so check for loose connectors...
Remove the blower inlet housing on the passenger side. Should be 2 screws and 2 bolts. A long extension and a u-joint make it easier to access the rear 2 plugs on both banks. Keep track of the plugs by cylinder and look for anomalies to investigate further.
Hood doesn't look very good - outer corners at the headlights, gaps at the door tops and rocker sills.
Console top is badly cracked at the rear of the passenger side. Could be from piling p- tang in the car. LOL!
Something looks odd to me about the airbag cover on the steering wheel. They may...
Fuel Pressure Regulator:
The Gen 1 and 96-98/99 modules have a stainless bottom-fed, side outlet regulator that snaps into the module top. Pressurized fuel flows out of the fuel pump, up thru the regulator’s 6mm coaxial bottom inlet stem, toward the outlet line connector. Although I've not had...
Racetronix sells 190 (stock), 255 and 340 lph jet pumps (E85 compatible) and all the accessories you'll need to refresh, or upgrade your fuel module. You would need to swap the red/black wires in the lower stock pump plug and it's good to go.
The new inner bucket filter required a notch in the...
This thread is a "Reference Work" with outstanding contributions from some true pioneers. I have referred to it many times, but found that there is a lack of photos to more completely describe how it all fits together and works.
When you pull the carpet out of the rear and package shelf, you'll...
I don't know if anyone has them now for sure, but you might find some universal rings that could fit. I would recommend against polished accents - maybe look for brushed, or satin finished due to glare considerations.
The first things you need to do are put new plugs and wires on the car and make sure your battery voltage is strong. Keep track of the plugs by cylinder and see if any are noticeably different than the others. Run a compression test on the car after it's warmed up and compare the readings with...
I've been in dialog with a PhD ME on this. One simple improvement he suggested is getting full port area flow in/out of the engine on the makeup air side, so I split the valve cover vents back to my airbox instead of going thru the tee and into one port, which just about doubled the cross...
