The filter media might be okay but the bypass spring inside the genuine Mopar/Viper filter is where the important difference is. Stick with the OE part for this application.
There are about 10 of us fairly active in Northern Delaware. I have a couple let's in my garage and guys are usually here at some point most weekends. You're welcome to join us if you want to make the drive. I'm also happy to give you all complete tour of your car.

The side walls on a drag radial are not the same as a Road tire. A drag radial will not corner and handle the same as a street Tire or a road course Tire.
You didn't say what year, and the year matters. I'm not a big fan of fixing those things that are not broken. Fluids are a good idea, but belts, hoses, power steering pump, maybe not. I've been an owner since the late 90's and have owned 6 Vipers, and I wrench on quite a few others. Have a...

99 Viper GTS
57 Porsche 356
06 SRT Ram Viper truck

Drop me a note. Something Id like to discuss.
Thanks,
Steve

I've been a member since '98. I've been very happy here and always made to feel welcome. I have served as a club officer in the VA/MD/DE region.
My Mom passed...
You're describing the Zone Rendezvous, those were a flop in recent history. The last one that was scheduled in Jersey was going to be an incredible event. I was "In the loop" back then but they couldn't get enough participation commitments.
