I have had nests dissolve with high water pressure from a hose, maybe you should flush behind the mirror with water?
I do not know if its a good idea or not, depending on how well the electronics and wires...
My drivers side was damaged by transporter driver, getting in the car during a delivery, climbing through the drivers window to drive car out of trailer.
The NEW test weatherstrip worked out really well. I am working on the install instructions.
This outer weatherstrip should be able to be installed without removing any hardware, just prep work on the attachment point.

Hey "Side Sill" experts:
When these are painted (like at Prefix) are they treated any differently than any other body panel? or do they require other steps to paint - due to heat?
I have read several posts about getting the PCM items changed, like idle speed and fan turn on temp etc.
On the Gen 2:
What can be changed by tools? (can I buy the tools myself?)
What can be changed by Dodge Service techs? (if different)
What can be screwed up working on the PCM?

on page 2 of his great write up, you can see how to take off the side sills, he also goes into replacing/updating the heat shields.
