I have an '06 roadster that is having a problem with the driver's side window. It will go up and down but on the up cycle, the window rolls up all the way until you hear a ratcheting sound, then stops. At this poiint, the window is too high for me to close the door. Another problem I...
Re: Why we viper owners get the cold shoulder alot of times from other "sport" car ow
Had a similar experience earlier this month. I took my Viper to a car show that was hosted by a large automotive aftermarket ignition manufacturer. There were a lot of "older" muscle cars there and was...
Thought so too but from my experience with my Z06, it did not work. My Z06 was throwing a CEL for a faulty air check valve. I cleared the codes, drove it hard for 20 minutes and then took it for an emission inspection. It failed. The dealer told me they were surprised that it failed their...
I experienced this problem on my '06. Ended up paying $144 for the e-brake pads at the dealership. I could not find them cheaper on Ebay. I also ended up replacing my rear rotors since the inner sides were scored. Wasn't cheap...they were Eurotek two-piece rotors that cost $600 for the pair.
Mine goes up to the bottom of the center hood intake. Anyone have feedback on how to do the backside of the sideview mirrors? When I purchased my kit, it came with two ovals that were for the mirrors but the installer had a helluva time with it due to the curvature of the sideview mirrors.
You might want to check your emergency brake pads, especially the inner ones since they tend to wear out faster than the outer ones and cause similar noise you are describing. That is what happened to me but unfortunately, I did not catch it in time and had to replace the rear rotors as well.
I went to a car show last month and took my Viper to it. No Porsches but a lot of Corvettes and a few Cobras. The Corvette guys/gals were pretty cool and we exhanged information but the Cobra guys were full of themselves. In the end, a lot of people flocked over to my Viper once I opened the...
I found my rear shock absorber leaking and decided that for now, to replace it with a stock unit. I found one on Ebay that came off of a 2008 Viper for under $300. The dealership told me that a 4-wheel alignment was needed afterwards.
I searched this forum and found most owners replaced...
I live in El Paso, TX. Not many Viper owners, much less Viper performance shops. So the dealer is about the only place I can take it to. Fortunately, the dealer I took mine to has a certified Viper tech working there. His recommendation was to replace both rear rotors and pads. He did not...
Thanks for the information. Since I am getting new rotors, I will get everything new so I can establish a good baseline. Then I will keep my eyes on the inner ebrake pad.
Picked up an '06 Viper roadster six months ago and it is my DD replacement for the '01 Z06. The Viper makes the Z06 feel like a luxury car. The Viper is more of a raw sports car than the Z06. These are not a complaints, just observations. However, that is what makes a Viper a Viper and I...
Thanks for the feedback guys. Now that I know the stock pads come with extra hardware, I will have the dealer replace it as well. I purchased this Gen3 six months ago with only 10.5k miles. Now it has 13k miles and the rear is making noise. Took it to the dealer and found that the driver's...
I searched on this topic but could not find the answer I was looking for. I have a Gen 3 that needs the rear pads replaced. I am still on the fence between stock pads or aftermarket pads and wanted to know if the stock pads from the dealer come with additional hardware (such as shims, clips...
Don't mean to hijack this thread but couldn't find a way to post a new one.
I too own a 2006 Viper with 12,900 miles with a rear diff that makes noise. I can best describe the noise as two cymbols slightly rubbing. It is very evident coasting at about 10 mph, clutch engaged, and gets loader...
Just got an '06 Viper five months ago and loving it. Traded in my '01 Z06 for it. Anyway, you can buy a generic Homelink transmitter off of Ebay for about $25.00. Take the driver's side sunvisor off and take it and the Homelink to an upholstery shop so they can incorporate the Homelink device...
Thanks for the post. I know that oil changes are fairly basic but sometimes can be helpful to find other's experiences.
Case in point when I bought my SL55 three years ago, I found out it had two drain plugs you had to drain from. If it wasn't for the forum where I found the "how-to", I...
I have searched the website for driving schools that are solely for Vipers but only found the SRT Track Experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
