    What towels/rags to use?

Yep, I distinctly talk about both the waffle weave and the edgeless blue towels together. I don't know how you could have missed it.

    What towels/rags to use?

I personally don't wash any of mine before I use them. The Rag Company suggest that you do, however, I haven't had any issues. This is an old thread so my information has changed since I last posted in it. The waffle weave towels may look different to you but believe me, they are the ones to...

Junkman's, The Mother of All "How to Fix Your Paint for Novices" Thread!

Now don't make the mistake of putting all kinds of crap dressings on it. Wipe it down with soap and water to keep it clean and only apply a very light wax on it to protect it from fading. If your car is garaged, you will NOT need to wax it often. Twice a year at the most. The more wax you use...

Junkman's, The Mother of All "How to Fix Your Paint for Novices" Thread!

Given everything that you have posted, I would say that this is the BEST resolution for you. No one wants a jacked up looking dash in their Viper so make sure that you do your homework in selecting the person to fix it. Don't take their word at crap, look at them working and look at the work...

Junkman's, The Mother of All "How to Fix Your Paint for Novices" Thread!

You send it back to whoever sold it to you and let them figure out how to fix it. With all due respect, you are the absolute LAST person who needs to do anything to that dash. Working on carbon fiber is a little bit different than working on your car's paint. You ain't gonna mess up anything on...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

Okay, stop what you're doing and give Adam a call. I know you have his personal cell number. Ask him if I EVER was a employee of his. What you will find out is that I was never employed by Adam's, nor did I ever accept his offer to become one. So get your facts straight as you are completely in...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

The operative word here is BETTER. I've used a few microfiber soaps and I haven't seen anything BETTER about them. They are BETTER for the people selling them because they are overpriced. But BETTER in quality I definitely haven't seen.

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

I've been washing with Woolite for years, since the mid 1970''s and have had NO issues whatsoever. I'll stick with the tried and true.

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

Definitely. There is no need to buy these special "microfiber soaps" being sold when they have over the counter products that have been on the market for years and have proven themselves. I have been using Woolite since the 70's, when I use to wear silk shirts (quit laughing, they were in back...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

Woolite is what I use on not only my microfiber towels, but all my fine washables (I don't know why that sounds like underwear...). Available over the counter at any grocery store.

    Opti coat just applied

Basically, it's like a second layer of clear coat, just not as hard. It will eventually wear off, but not wash off like a wax or sealant does as the OP stated. Problem is, you want your paint to be absolutely perfect BEFORE applying it, or you will seal in every scratch, swirl and any other...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

lol! Thanks man. :) ... and that is EXACTLY how to destroy your paint. Of all the worthless (and destructive) stuff that you can use on your paint, those crappy, made in China towels are at the top of the list. I use those things to check my oil and clean off my water hose. I would never...

Need advice on washing microfibers and storage techniques.

I always group like towels together when I wash. That means, only borderless blonds get washed together and only waffle weave towels get washed together. I do this for two reasons. One, I don't want any lint from a long nap towel to get mixed onto my waffle weave towels. Two, I don't want any...

    Polishing factory stripes?

Even with a PC, it is possible to push polish up under the edges. I see this all the time with novices. If your strips have a matte finish, buffing on them will cause them to shine. For those who are purist with the appearance of their car, that is not a good thing. Also, polish can cause...

    Polishing factory stripes?

I completely understand that. It still does not change my opinion in how to deal with them. The only way THAT is going to happen is if you don't know what you're doing and/or you are using equipment that is out of your pay grade. I buff on and all around edges all the time and at no time have...

    Polishing factory stripes?

Paint is paint. It doesn't matter if they are stripes or anything else. If it is painted on the car, you treat it just as you would the REST of the paint on your car. You have to be specific about which type of stripes that you are talking about. DECALS are treated completely different than...

Care and Maintenance of Vinyl Decals and Stripes

This is a question that often comes up on a lot of car care forums so I decided to dig into the vinyl strip industry and get the scoop straight from the manufactures. First, a little background on the industry. There are 3 major manufactures, 3M, Oracal and Avery. There are plenty of smaller...

    Polishing factory stripes?

There's no need to tape the edges of stripes that are PAINTED on the car.

    Polishing factory stripes?

Stripes that are painted and clear coated are treated just like paint. There is no difference in those stripes and the paint on the car.

    Why this effect after waxing?

It's probably nothing more than you did a poor job at removing all of the wax. Common issue. You have to not only use a lot of light to see what you've done, you then need to pull the car out into direct sunlight in order to check it twice. You'd be surprised at what you will find.
