WOW! Thats awesome! Looks like skits.com doesn't carry Kotek anymore, but there are plenty of other seal kits for a 2000 Dakota. I'll order one and report my findings!!!
Thank you.
My steering rack has a slight leak, so I was asking about the rack itself... I found the tie rod information... I'm just wondering if the rack itself is based on a Dakota...
I know the outer tie rods are from a Dakota... is the whole steering rack also?? I can't seem to find a part # cross reference, my guess is the inner tie rods are Viper specific, so its not a direct bolt-in, which would be why the part #'s aren't interchangeable.
That's my guess...
Anyone...
Yes, two... Cost and power.
1. the mirrors you speak of are hard to find and most are trashed used (worn buttons, etc). Cheapest new I found was close to $300 for orange display.
2. Power - the power for the mirrors in the Viper is constant on... Until I figure out how to change this to...
Ok, here's the basics:
1. This is the harness I had in the car... On the right, ground... On the left, both 12V+ (always on)
2. The harness the Sebring Mirror comes with - basically everything needs to be powered except the middle wire on the right side of the harness... This...
So, for some reason my car was missing the rear view mirror when I bought it... So I searched for options and came up with this...
2007 Sebring Rear View Mirror - $30 on eBay.
Has auto dim and map lights. - Perfect.
I documented the install, if anyone wants me to post it I will...
Looks like I got it...
I reset the PCM... I had the car sitting with no battery while I was working... when I put everything back together I couldn't properly prime the fuel system.... I didn't know about setting the TPS, so I was fluttering the throttle to get it running...
I set...
That's exactly what is SOUNDS like... but not only did I check the order twice... I even swapped out my NEW wire with the OEM wires (Dated 2/01 BTW)
Still popping.
I called Chuck.... He said it could be injector fouling... I can hear them clicking with my scope, but who knows what the spray...
Let me start this by saying, yes... I am posting this everywhere I can in am attest to get my new baby running right... so... HELP!!
Let's see if we can solve this.
2001 RT/10
30k miles
Cat delete, no other mods.
New Wires, new plugs, new battery.
Top of motor rebuilt...
I have my cat delete kit, went to put it on...
What am I missing? Is there a write up anywhere on removing the side sills on an RT/10? I made the mistake of thinking it was an easy removal...
My drivers cat is SHOT, I need to get it out...
Anyone?
Trying to put my motor back together, broke a few of the Vent hoses... Anyone know of a Viper Specialist in the Tampa Bay area that might have these laying around?
I ordered this kit... but this morning when I went to install it, it appears to be the exact same link as I am expected to remove.
There are a few small mods from the previous owner on the car, is it possible that they have already done this?
The length of the links are the same... Don't...
Thank you!!!
1. the ARP Paperwork says to use 120 ft lbs when tightening. Sound right?
2. I will double check this when installing the heads.
3. I did add a new Thermostat and Gasket, but before I put it all together, I hear I should drill holes in the thermostat to aid in air bubble...
Well, fingers crossed because I already moved the engine a few times to rotate the pistons to the top of the block... so I hope nothing moved! I would assume I could see it if they did.
I ordered the ARP thread cleaner through my local speed shop... It will arrive tomorrow...
I don't suspect...
Why shouldn't I rotate the engine with the head off? I lubricated the cylinders by wiping them down with oil before I did... How else are you supposed to clean off the piston tops?
I was able to secure a set of ARP head studs to reassemble... overkill I know, but they were free...
I have all...
I have received messages about this... So I thought I would come clean...

Hope this doesn't affect my status as an owner on this forum...
I have begun to remove the heads to replace the head gaskets and, likely the drivers side head.
Who has done this before... I had some questions...
Is there a write up somewhere? The factory manuals are kind of a joke on some topics...
