Thanks for the feedback. Not much in the way of reviews on these, since most seem to default to Quality/AB. Not against going that route, but I have a slew of things I was going to pick up from RSI and figured I’d grab these while there.
Does anyone use these and have feedback on quality or issues? They’re reasonably priced amongst the rest of the after market options like Quality/AB, Scott’s, MSD, etc.
Appreciate the feedback on their wires. If none, maybe I’ll play mule and write up my review.
I am trying to get new forged wheels built and we're struggling to get the StopTech ST40 328x28 rear brake caliper dimension. Specifically, the overhang off the rotor to the back of the wheel clearance. None of the Stoptech Viper kit templates available online have rear kit documents...
Tolerances related to door and seal gaps vs. tolerance in accuracy of mounting surfaces and symmetry are two different points and I feel you there. I have the same issue of shim differences on things. Check the steering box mounting washers... LOL
I suppose the cars are hand built and everyone is getting a different situation. I just know it takes next to no sag to start having interference. The door does seem to have some up/down give due to the hinge design just not supporting the weight of the door and I see the same on mine, but it's...
No leaks? Not losing fluid? I would definitely try a bleed. Old fluid with moisture can definitely become less effective at transferring pressure and who knows, you may have a bubble. A good bleed/flush before pulling the trans for the cylinder is worth the shot. You could bleed the master for...
I just genuinely think these cars are too tight with the clearance out of the factory. My door is ever so slightly up and is barely clearing a brand new seal. I can’t see any issue with the door, but who knows. And I don’t think anyone has gone through the lengths I have to make the door...
+1 on the clear hose. If it’s a simple flush, a Mitivac vacuum bleed is great for this and no mess. I find that when you have air in the lines, a good ole power bleed with someone on the pedal works best.
The clutch is tough one to use a hose on. I use a small clear measuring cup tucked under...
The ATF vs 75w-85 manual trans lube has been a decades old debacle for the transmission and you’ll leave all the research with a bit of an open end. As others stated and sort of unofficially, you can run either. Tremec’s own manual says to run a Dextron III ATF, but to ultimately follow the...
New to the forum! I just wanted to share my experience on dealing with the common door sag/hang issues these cars have. Maybe it can lead someone down a better path. All my research kept me thinking it was a sagging door.
Tip one: It's the door seal, not your door sagging.
This car has a...
+1 on ATF for hinge lube. Another tip, a thin weight synthetic hydraulic fluid (which is not unlike ATF). I use it for high end roller chains in industrial automation which have very precise and tight tolerances, due to its high penetration capability. We've seen amp draw drop on electric motors...
These throw-out/slave clutch cylinders are sensitive on these Tremec setups (I've had issues on my Z06 T56). As Steve mentioned, the fluid not being taken care of can lead to wear and tear and the slave is a common failure point. These cylinders tend to dirty up system fluid more quickly and the...
Below $50K was tough but not impossible when I was looking a year ago. The mileage will be higher and the condition may be a bit less than to be desired, but patience is key. The deals are out there. A truly clean and well cared for example is simply on the rise in price and I cannot imagine it...
