Finally got a chance to shoot some better photos of the Slate Snake (AKA: Texas Asp). She got her first coat of Zaino, and the best detailing she's ever had (including the engine bay and every little nook and cranny imaginable). Here she is in all her glory! :)

Looks like it really has a great shine to it. Nice job. I wish mine was that clean right now.

LOL... I'm so OCD when it comes to detailing. I found a bunch of Missouri dirt (is there an import tax on that). :)

One coat of Zaino did pretty good, but after a few more, she'll have a mirror finish that you won't believe! :)

LOL... I'm so bad I take detailing stuff to the track! Along with all my spare parts and tools.

Gotta look good while you're flying at 150+ on the track ya know! :):):)

Cannot wait to see you at the next Austin VCA event and you can dyno that new baby!

LOL... I'll have to get some go-fast parts to put a decent dyno number down! She's so bone stock right now it hurts! :)

Looking forward to hooking up with some Viper folks! I think they're all in hiding here is SA. I haven't seen a Viper on the road here in SA in a very long time!

Beautiful car. I LOVE Slate Vipers. Once of my favorite colors.

Really looks nice with the Zaino on it. What are you using, Z2p or Z5p? I recommend the latter on dark colors like slate. Did you finish off with Z8? Whatever you are doing keep doing it because it is working. :2tu:

Thanks! I use Z-5 if I detect any swirlies starting to appear, otherwise it's Z-2. I did Z-5 since it needed it. I might go two more Z-5 coats before I start with Z-2.

I think I've got more Zaino stuff than you can imagine -- about every Z-x made. I usually claybar about every 6 months, so the finish stays silky smooth.

I think my '03 Z must have at leat 50 coats by now -- unreal finish that brings home the show iron; first place again this year in ultra modified.

LOL... I know a non-striped Viper is heresy, but you don't know how long I had to search to find a slate no stripe coupe with 5-spoke wheels! There were only 6 made in that configuration. The bonus was full providence on the car and only 4,500 miles on the odo. The original dealer was Woodhouse. :)

I think I may have you beat when it comes to the Zaino. ;) I even have the old and new version on things like the glass polish. I usually buy a few at a time of each so I save on shipping. Great product, and every single product they sell is awesome right down to the glass and plastic polishes. I even use the leather conditioner (Z10) on my couch. I just wish they sold it by the gallon. It really makes the house smell great.

I would love to see the Z pictures but I do not want you to get in trouble posting Vette pictures on a Viper board. :lmao: If you get a minute and don't mind please send a few to [email protected].

Love the Slate SRT's. They are equally beautiful both with and witout stripes. Do you know how many Striped coupes there are? I kinda remember hearing something like 18 or 23, I know it is a very low number. I cannot not figure out why the nicest colors always have the lowest numbers. Sapphire, Graphite and Slate all come to mid. :dunno:

I agree on the Zaino leather products -- both the cleaner and leather in a bottle. I even use leather in a bottle on my dash and other interior bits. And the tire cleaner/polish works great on all rubber and plastic parts everywhere. I've asked Zaino to sell Z-6 by the gallon for years. I always carry a bottle for the little bird poop emergencies and such.

Last show, we had three cars showing, and all took home trophies. The '03 Z took a first and the '07 ZR and '95 240SX both took seconds. Good old Zaino does it again! The '09 Z car nationals will be in San Antonio at the end of September. The Zs are of the Japan variety as opposed to the Detroit variety.

Here's the 600 hp '03 350Z at the last show (it's quicker than my Viper, at least at the moment). LOL... any car enthusiast loves all cars... :)

And a closeup of what makes her go fast (she's pushing 16 psi on an engine that can easily handle 25 psi) -- Viper folks might have to get used to seeing this one show up on track days... :)

Beautiful Viper Tere, you have excellent taste. And you are correct they are rather difficult to find. Picked mine up in late July.

Cool! If yours is a no stripe with 5-spokes and no Sirius radio, then we've accounted for 2 of the 6! :)

LOL... It was a nice day today so I drove the Viper to work. I took a couple more "step outside" breaks that usual just so I could stand there and look at her (actually, wishing I were out driving around). I really need to get the Viper out on a skidpad so I can see where she breaks loose on corners -- need to explore the far corners of the envelope. It's interesting going back and forth between the Z and the Viper because the two cars have radically different behaviors.

Tere: Glad you give the comparisons, as that's what we always tell people...NOTHING compares to the VIPER. It's VERY difficult to get the Viper run against another car, no matter WHAT car it is, it's a whole different BEAST...the way it should be! Glad you're enjoying! ~juli
