If your 8.3 tt can't pull a massaged 5.4 liter GT 0 to 100 or to 200, something is seriously wrong with your Viper.

Okay, I also have a whipple FGT...with the basic stuff. My '06 TT Viper will eat it up and spit it out. Something wrong with your TT Viper. My '08 Viper is also quicker than my FGT was stock...maybe .3-.4 in the 1320. Love the FGT....but come on now. I think Les said it best. All the great times by the FGT in the mag rags were a ringer car. Before you say I have an under performing FGT...I have had 4 of them.

So the FGT will best a Gen 3 Viper by .2-.4 in the quarter. Stock for stock. The FGT is incredibly easy to mod to huge numbers, no doubt. I dyno'd one of my FGt's at over 1000 rwhp...on all stock internals...with a huge nitrous shot.

I don't think the FGT was designed as a quarter mile car. It excelled on road courses in the 60's. The 05/06's do well at top end as well, there governed for 205 MPH but can do 215 MPH.

On the road till next weekend, will post some then. I think I have previously posted pics of 2 of the FGT's....and most of my Vipers. FGT colors were 3 yellow...1 red. Do you think I like yellow? lol. Also my fav Viper color......other than my '08 SSGC. Currently have Red, Yellow, SSG, Black, Viper Blue....with a Violet close to being added. I really enjoy the FGT's...but love the Vipers. Nothing more intoxicating than 10 cylinders of n/a power. Other than 10 cylinders with a TT bolted on.

Crane you should be careful giving your opinion some a**hole named Alex doesn't like it when you say another type auto might do something a little better than his viper on this viper board. I have to agree a TT Viper is just way too much for a Whipple GT, I have run 10.00 at over 145 mph in a Heffner TT Viper with street tires with Jason a couple years ago and that was his prototype with basic tune, the same car with slicks and tuned now goes 8's! The GT really pulls good but the TT Viper is just unreal! I also have both vehicles to compare!

I own both as well, The GT I drive has the 2.75 Pulley and Tune as well with Accufab exhaust and it is nice added hp and it feels planted a little better than the new Viper, but that will change with the new ACR's mine should be here in the next couple of weeks. So we will see. Both are great Super cars and if you are fortunate to own any of the above consider yourself lucky. The other car which I have taken a liking to is the Gallardo I know not American Made but it also has a nice fun clean power surge. Change exhaust and you feel like you’re in formula 1, with nice subtle Accoutrements. The Lambo definitely has the fit and finish inside.

Warf your right and I agree!, but I don't even know this guy and this Troll follows around any post I respond to and follows with some negative response and some name calling that goes with it, most of the time I just quit responding to the posts because I don't have time to argue with a poser, but I have had enough! I don't respond to any posts I see Alex has responded to because I don't feel like playing this game, I respond to posts that I feel I have an opinion on and I damn sure don't need Alex's approval. So I wanted to make it clear to him I have been in the Viper community much longer than him and I don't bash other people for their opinion and I am not taking it from him either, and I have never started a negative attack on him in any post ever. I simply stated that if I run across him in person I want to explain my position to him personally in a personal way and help him understand that just because a person has an opinon, that doesn't give you the right to call names and such because their may be consequences! Our 05 GT made 539rwhp bone stock.....we added pulley(18lb boost)
Accufab TB,Headers and Borla exhaust along with a tune. The car now makes 704rwhp.....mod dollars spent was ~$5k.

To the original question,stock our GT ran neck & neck with my stock C6 Z06.....so I think the 08 Viper(with equal drivers) would walk it pretty good.

I'm sure you did pick up some HP with the exhaust...the stock piece is pretty restrictive.

The Ford GT is a great looking car and surely has lots of hop up potential but what makes the Viper so special is that it starts off with more (cubic inches) and can always end up with more, via mods, than any other car. Chrysler is a ballsy company for making such a car and the day they discontinue the Viper is the day they are neutered and consequently, will lose most of us as buyers of their products. Hopefully, they are aware of the impact that this extraordinary car has on their image.

And yes I agree I love the fact that Dodge still builds the Viper and makes new models! I love the Viper always have. Long live the Viper with BIG Block V-10 power!

I had an 06 Viper and am getting an 08 soon. I have 2 FGTs but they are both tuned up to about 750 HP, the FGT always felt like a more refined car and much faster stock (compared to the 06 Snake) , that being said, just based on numbers I would say that stock configurations are really close with the edge goint to the 08 Viper in the 1/4 mile.
