1/4 mile through trap in 3rd gear?

you should definately been in 4th...... if you had gone to 4th on your last run you would have run a 12 flat for sure.....

You absolutley positively definitely need to shift into 4th. I can't conceive of someone being faster staying in 3rd... I've heard people say you get better ET but less MPH but I don't buy it - in the 1/4 I am at redline in 3rd a loooong way before the end and I am not accelerating, so you definitely want to grab 4th.

Depending on how well prepped the track is, try launching with more RPM and using the clutch to control wheelspin. If you can work your shifts faster, your MPH should go up to the 119-120 range... combine that with a solid launch (2500-3000rpm) and judicious clutch usage to control wheelspin, not only will you have an 11 second run, you will be DEEP in the 11's.

Your times are very very good for a first time out at the track! Congratulations. You're already doing better than most magazine drivers, and with the faster shifts you will gain .2 seconds, and the launch can get you up to 1/2 second.
