150 to 200 shot ???

Deciding if I should go with a 200 shot. Have been running a 150 shot with no problems at all. No wheel spin problems either. It is an NX wet kit. Other mods include; tubes, filters,vec-1 and a cat-back exhaust.

Any suggestions ?

A guys use a Dyno when or if you decide to go up. Need to keep an eye on your fuel pressure the 150 shot has done well for me. One more thing If you don't have that much wheel spin on your 150 shot You need to find a Dyno because your not getting all of the 150hp, it's might be in the area of 90 to 100 HP. You need to be tuned.


Brad the kit is fine with street tires stock the car ran a best time of 12.3 @ 115 with the gas and minor mods same tires 11.9 @ 122. It could be a lot better with some practice.

With street DOTs and NOS getting that car to hook is somthing else. With that MPH low elevens or very hi tens with slicks. Mods are only headers and filters I changed jets and took it to just a 100 shoot and back to the dyno which gave me 537RWHP @ 633RWTQ with out the gas 442RWHP @ 467RWTQ.

Hey guys,
I just made some passes yesterday on a 150 and a 200. I made 3 passes on a 150, 11.04, 11.06, and 11.06. On the 200 I went 10.78. All of the runs were on drag radials. My MPH was weird because I had to shift to fifth at about 1000 foot. I hit the limiter in fourth on the one pass and ran 128.9 . All of the others were in fifth and were around 124-125 MPH. I will say that the BTR propane kit cars were running faster yesterday, there were 2, Rich Detert(10.73 on drag radials) and Kevin Linebaugh(10.42 on slicks). I know Rich's set up was on the 225 shot, but I am not sure about Kevin's. I will say that the propane cars leave softer and smoother than the wet cars also...my wife even noticed the differences on the launch. Hope that helps.

The companies have to be safe, so they set the systems to run rich (or fat) so you dont lean out and fry that engine.

Just to let you know cars are like snow flakes no two are the same. You can have two lets say 97 gts vipers, put them on the dyno and the numbers will be different.

So you have to play with the jets in the kit to get the most out of your fuel pressure.

I am running 150HP jets (46/24) and I dynoed really rich with 508RWHP/585RWTQ. No real tuning, but I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't running lean before I took the Viper to the track with N2O for the first time.

My best run for the night was 11.9 @127MPH on stock Michelins with 18K miles on them. I have 3.55 gears but didn't hit the rev limiter in 4th.

I know that with my MPH I could shave time off of the 1/4 mile times, but I was already warned to slow down once I hit the 11s.

Maybe it's the older tires, or the track prep, or my launch style, but it was definitely tough getting traction in the first 2-3 gears.

My best run was the 1st, and in 85 degree weather. I didn't rev the engine, and shifted early (1st/4500, 2nd/5000)for a casual run through (and to reduce tire spin). Later when I had harder launches the car spun more and got slower times as I had to back off of the throttle to regain traction in 1st and 2nd gears.

Still, I was happy at the track because my goal was to hit the 11s on normal tires, and not break anything on the car. :cool: Especially with a 3hr+ drive to get home from the track. :eek: With stock 438RWHP/462RWTQ and on the same old tires, my best previous N/A time was 12.4 @120MPH on my first visit to the track in the Viper.

I pulled 576 HP and 678 TQ on a 125 nitrous jet and a 150 fuel jet with a 11.4 air/fuel reading. I set my jets to air fuel instead of what the kit called for. I figure I lost a little power, but I liked my air fuel readings.

I had my car dynoed to get the a/f reading just to make sure that it wasn't running lean, and it was totally rich ******* the a/f meter below the lowest reading of 10 from 3400-5800RPM. Which is why my HP/TQ is off.

Are you guys running NX N20 setups?

If so, what are the actual jet sizes that you are using?

Enlighten me, what kind of system are you using that uses 125 and 150 jets. From your hp that would typically be .048-.050 NOS and .034-036 fuel?

I have a Nx wet system 150 shot only because I have a 2000 RT and was told that the pistons could safely handle the 150, and that 200 might be dangerous.

I think I was dynoed at 553 & about 7. Don't remember the exact numbers. I don't use it for drag racing, just highway fun and long road courses. I used it on Pocono - back straight....wow....the sustained acceleration I felt was great. Only got about 5 passes on a 10 lb. bottle, but it was fun while it lasted.

I used a 38 and 22 jet combination and that put my air fuel at 11.4. It pulled 576 and 678 at the rear wheels with that combo. Hope that helps.
