Well you have been waiting for the confirmed numbers and granted we use a Mustang dyno instead of the Dyno Jet, but we know our dyno is very accurate and calibrated to the same setup the factory uses;) . We base lined an new 08' yesterday at 481 RWHP = to 602 at the crank. Today with the full Belanger system and high flow cats we ran the car again and with just 31 miles on it and no "learning" miles for the computer, we gained... 50 RWHP:headbang: at 6250rpm! thats 62 HP at the crank with just 38 miles on the car! Just think what they will produce when there is some break in miles run on her.

The gains were across the board with a 20ft/lbs gain starting at 2875rpm and peaking at 44 at 6200rpm! I will have Chris M. try and post some of the graphs for you tonight. If we can find a way to tune the PCM there will be even more potential since the A/F was still in the mid 10's from 4800rpm and up. We have no check engine lights either so that concern seem to be mute!:nana:

I would like to thank Mr. Schenk for his generous donation of his new "undelivered" 08' snake for our test. This system is sold as an off road only package only and even though it will pass emissions it is not a system that is CARB approved. FYI.

Thanks,

Those are great numbers by my estimation.....was this just Belanger headers or the full exhaust system?

Please keep us all posted with updates as to whether the A/F mixture can be adjusted closer to ideal numbers for making power.

Aaron

Thanks,

Thank you for the report! While the +50 is exceptional...the 20% loss to the wheels is very high on the base line. Any thoughts?

It is not a twenty percent loss at the wheels. They used a Mustang Dyno. In order to convert to SAE HP, you multiply by 1.1 and divide by .88. A Mustang dyno's readings are always ten percent under the more frequently used type of dyno that most of our posters use( DynoJet). So, Mark is only assuming a 12% drive line loss which is what Chrysler assumes. 481 X 1.1 = 529.1. 529.1 divided by .88 equals 601.25. For those who are interested, there is alot of data on the net about the difference bewteen the two dyno types. I had my 2006 coupe dynoed on both types and confirmed the ten percent difference.

Well I know without getting into a heated debate about dynos and operation that we follow the same numbers as the factory does. They let us know that the wheel loss is closer to 25% than 15% so that is what we go by. Each to his own I guess but the crank numbers will all be the same in the end, t is just what you need to believe is at the rear wheels. We use a 1.25 correction.

Thanks,

Thanks for the comments! Great #'s with the exhaust installation. Over 10%.

As a point of reference for a slow learner like me...what did your '06 cars baseline on your Dyno?

On behalf of those of us waiting to install this package on our 08s, thank you very much for posting this information. In case you have not already apprised Lou of your results, I will e-mail him with your data. Thanks again!

How much $ for the full exhaust and install ??

I got my Belanger headers, exhaust and high-flow cats from Partsrack for under $4,000. I believe there was a "cyber sale" on these same parts (Belanger headers, sidepipe exhaust kit and high-flow cats) recently. Search over on the vendor forum of this website.

Do the 06 headers fit the 08 cars?
They are a completely new design and I doubt they will be compatible.

Mark,
Just for clarification, the headers used for this test are NOT the same headers designed for the '06? Am I understanding this correctly?

Does this set-up use 2 or 4 cats?
Header primary diameter & collector size?
What size side-pipes? 3"?

Great numbers!! :2tu:

1. Partsrack has the system on sale to the end of the year.
2. It's a shame the pcm has to be flashed to optimise hp gains ....i wonder how hard it is to remove and how long it will take dcperformance to offer that

Thanks for posting this great information, Chris.

Now imagine the ACR so equipped + 1000lbs of downorce @ 150 mph!

I would say very serious competition for the Comp Coupe and street legal (well sort of...)!

I strongly recommend that anybody buying an ACR should do another mod involving "tubing" first: A full roll cage.

I still don't understand why Dodge did not design it, engineer it, test it and put it in as factory equipment with a delete option.

Haven't installed mine yet since my car hasn't arrived. Mark, would you be willing to share the number of hours and labor cost for the install? Thanks.

/Rich

I have talked with Lou about the install and he will be updating you all with any "changes" that may be coming. We took our time with this car since the owner had not even seen it yet and we had about 8.5 hours in it start to finish.

The headers are a completely new design... 2 cats, I believe 1 3/4" and 3", side pipes are 2 1/2" for faster flow which is good for torque!

Hi Mark. What kind of sound difference did you notice? Quality? Loudness? Drone?

The sound is deep and has a bit of drone with the Belanger cat back "Magnaflow" muffler may have something to do with this. We will be using the Corsa track system on the next customers car we do and when that happens I will let you know if it is better. I do feel that the sound of the car is smoother and more "exotic" sounding then previous ones, IMHO of course.

Our "average" numbers are 585- 610. We have a few great cars that have made 630 though that translates to 720-770hp at the crank. :2tu:
