I run a GM dealership and my used car buyer was at the St Louis Auto Auction today. There was a yellow RT/10 with 21,000 miles on it that brought $47,750. It was a lease turn in from Primus financial. That price sounds cheap! my buyer said it was a straight up car. I wish I was in a position to have bought that baby!!

If it was actually a 2001, that would make it a 2 year lease- unlikely. Plus the mileage is pretty high for a 2 year old Viper- soooo deduct $7000 for high mileage and another $3000 because it will end up being a dealer car, and viola you've got a $58,000 realistic retail price. That sounds about right.

i am so sick of seeing this happen. these cars are rare, and should NOT be sold for that little. i paid roughly that much for my viper, which i thought was a fair price this summer. people should just hold on to them and not let them go for so little. (my 2 cents)

BGR1-- Did you buy your viper as an investment? All cars(yes, some don't) depreciate. Some, as I suspect the viper will, appreciate- but over a long time. At my age, I'm just keeping the car for the next owner who'll make the profit. If you were looking for no depreciaton, maybe an existing antique or muscle car would've worked better. I have a 95 that had many cosmetic upgrades done to it and paid less than that four years ago, but I never anticipated making money on it. No I'm not flaming ya, just my .02$

They will continue to drop due to the "boom" a couple of years ago. People that couldn't afford them, bought them. Now, the their "lease" is up so to say. They have to dump them more or less because of financial difficulty. When those sellers / cars get weeded out. Prices will stabilize and will rise again....

Florida,
I was at an auction in Florida and a 1995 RT10 sold for $37,000.
It was about a month ago. That sounds high to me for an auction.
20000 plus miles.
