Just checked Dodge Self Service Recall site with a Member's 2004 Viper VIN...showed NO open recalls...so it must be too early in the process.
This is at the bottom of the advanced notice that we got.

Chrysler is recalling 4,278 cars from 2003 and 2004 because there is a chance that the airbags could inadvertently deploy. So far there have been no cases of this happening to owners, so this is preemptive recall. Chrysler will fix the cars free of charge, obviously.
Chrysler said it is unaware of any inadvertent deployments in the Vipers. An interim notification is expected to be sent this month with a remedy available later in the year, according to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Affected vehicles will be fitted, at no charge, with a harness filter that restores a control module's capacity to manage the airbag and pretensioner deployment.
Last November, Chrysler recalled about 923,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty SUVs from model years 2002 through 2004 for the same issue.
So if none of the Vipers have had the issue, maybe the .03% failure is of the 923,000 Grand Cherokee and Liberty's that were recalled? That would = 27,790 failures
Thank you, indeed it is. 923000 * .0003 = 277
Playing COD BO2 until 4am drinking beer has made for a lazy unproductive Saturday.
