2003 with RR wheel grinding.....

Hello. So I have a question about a grinding noise in my 2003 vert. When im making a right hand turn everthing is fine but when I make a left hand turn I hear and feel in the butt of my drivers seat a grinding/growl. So what this sounds like exactly is when you have a brake pad worn all the way down to the rivets and you put the brakes on and its digging into the rotor..... my best description. I have taken both rear wheels off and rotors and pads are fine. Not even a little wear on the pads. spinning the wheels on jacks doesn't produce any unusual noises. I would appreciate any suggestions greatly. Thanks much

Did you check the parking brake pads as well? That would be the first place I would look as they have a tendency to drag.

Bearing? Replaced one on this thing. Jack it up and see if it has any wobble. Mine did take out one pad.

It may be the differential fluid. Did you or previous owner change it? This car REQUIRES not just the fluid but also a small bottle of friction “modifier” additive.

Change the differential fluid and make sure the additive is used, that horrible grinding sound will be gone.

I agree,
You either have a bad inner parking break pad or the differential needs service and friction modifier.

See post #4 above. I know it sounds too simplistic, but that Mopar Friction Modifier is absolutely required, without it you get the grinding noise when turning at tighter radiuses.

Well I was way over thinking it. It was my drivers side inner parking brake pad....simple to remove, turning in the piston a beach but you can do it... replaced pads and all good on that side now....I won’t use parking brake unless truly necessary ....

Even without use of the parking brake, the inner pads tend to drag and wear down on 03-06 and 08-10 Vipers.
