Despite TORRENTAL downpours starting off the day we ended up having a pretty good turn out. I forgot to count the cars, but I do know we ran out of seats on the deck. I'm 48 hours awake as I write this, so please forgive me if I screw up the names on the following pics:

The first two shots are of the front parking field. We almost filled both rows - our goal for next year.

I think this is JohnM's yellow RT up front with Pat's B/W GTS behind. Don't know who drove the cars to the sides.

JohnV drove all the way down from NJ to sample the MD *****

Carlos (forgive me if I got the name wrong) is another friend from the Nj region - he attends a good number of events and his SRT has flash that's hard to forget.

The yellow ACR wore a NY plate saying "Venimus" so I assume he/she braved the heavy rains as well to travel down. The red/black GTS up front is NOT ViperMad's - to his and 1MEANSNAKE's mutual horror that was the going mistake of the day..

I was really hoping my car would be here in time for this. Looks like it was a great time, and GREAT turnout, despite the shady weather. Nice pics.

Yeah Bonkers, is that a real GTSR? C'mon, I'm sure you have more pictures and info on it.

I have a few more pics here and there. It was definitly not a GT2 - has cognac interior and no offical badging. But it does have the GT2 wing, canards (dive planes,) and side splitters.

This is what I get for being unsocial. My 06 could've used this meet to put some break-in miles. :)

First of all, I have to thank the people involved from the Md/Va region for putting on a first class event. The people were FIRST rate. They made an "out of towner" like me feel welcome.

Second, nobody mentioned the unbelievable food that was put out. The ***** were fantastic and plentiful. For those who did not like seafood, there were other items to eat as well. One couple I met did not even like seafood, but came anyway as there was other food to eat as well as the obvious attraction of the vehicles. The service of the staff was fantastic. Cake was even provided as well as soft drinks etc.

Third, there was a silent auction with very nice stuff that was up for sale. The prices were right.

The cars were, as you can tell, really great. There were many types of people with varied backgrounds. Interesting conversations were the norm of the day.

Perhaps we could get more people from up north to enjoy this gathering. About half of the entire Crab Deck was filled with Viper people (about 100 people with 26 Vipers). In my humble opinion, this event was an unbelievable gathering that will be more heavily attended over time. (It is a yearly event).

To further this end along, perhaps I can enlighten those who did not attend. Where else can you get all you can eat ***** for such a nominal amount and spend time with quality Viper people? Undoubtedly, there was a plethora of Md/Va people who drove more that 2 to 3 hours to get there. Perhaps there could be more people from up north.

For the northerners, the roads 13/301 south are WIDE OPEN and really nice to drive on. In actuality, the drive from Southern NJ - PA and Delaware is very reasonable. From the Delaware Memorial Bridge it is a mere 90 minutes. While the Md/Va members are modest and want to have maybe 6 or 7 more cars to fill "two rows" of parking spots at the deck, there could easily be 40 more cars there.

Lastly, I would like to personally thank Mr. Strakes whose ENTIRE FAMILY took the time to set up this event. They worked constantly to see that everyone had a good time. I know that if you hold it next year.....I am there in a heartbeat.

Guys,

I was joking. I was at the crabfeast and I know it is not a GTSR/GT2 but I am trying to get Bonkers to put more pics up for people here and tell you guys a little about it.

John (PatentLaw) - Thanks for your kind comments. We are working to make this an event that can be enjoyed by other regions as well as VA/MD. I started this event 8 years ago, and am proud that it has become a premier event for our region. Stay tuned for next year...

What kind of top is on the SRT in back of the ACR? Looks pretty nice.

That looks like a Jeff Lemke top. Unmistakable beauty.

I didn't post the picture for the man to be knocked down - he loves his car, is enthusiastic about the club, and actually drove it in the rain to attend the event - the latter of which can't be said for at least 35% of the people there.

ALL that matter is what the likes, the automotive world would be pretty boring if we all drove and liked the exact same car.

I was poking fun more at Corvette owners than anything to be honest. ;)

Good for him. That car is hideous! What a joke!

I have to agree with Bonkers here. He drove a valuable car through alot of rain to show it off. He is a good driver as the rainstorm that hit was pretty bad before the event. Moreover, there was rain predicted for the whole day. I don't fault ANYONE for not driving their car there that day. Although I did not meet the person, he obviously had spirit. That is why this event is going to grow by leaps and bounds. Mark my words, this event will continue to grow. If I wanted to see a stock type car, I could just open my garage door, look, and save the expense of travel.

JGK95 - I overheard the owner talking about the top that was fitted on the convert next to mine. He was proud of it, as he should be. It was really nice. I agree with your comments completely. It changed the car. I think that I have a few pictures of other cars there as well and will try to get those up for everyone. In particular there was a blue SRT10 that was nice, a blue and white GTS and a Black with silver stripe ACR.

Actually, it is not. I think this is a cleaned up version of the autoform top. It has the scoop removed and looks like the sail panels have the cutout filled in and painted. In another pic you can still see it retains a sort of double bubble look and is not as low as the new AP top.
