I picked up a red viper with black stripes, it's my 1st American vehicle and I love it, I would like a little more power.I have a 2013 CLS 63 that I took to renntech and had the ecu remapped that gives me 669hp and 734 torque at the crank 0-60 3.4 on d.o.t. tires and 11.34 @ 125mph , very similar to my viper .The power comes on different so I can't say which one is faster all I know is the viper looks like it should be way faster of the two lol, so that's my mission to get as much hp as I can without nos or forced induction. I'm so in love with this car can't stop going into the garage and looking at it .I've known for a while the they're having a hard time moving vipers and are given massive discounts, so when I saw a 2014 slightly used srt with 1300 miles on it on sale for $85,000 I thought it was a great deal , I thought I got a even better deal when I got it for $83,000....but now I'm on the forums and seeing other great deals and it's ruining my brand new car feeling.I keep feeling like i could have gotten a better deal ,yeah I know it's nothing I can do about it now but I can't stop thinking about it..anyways I'm loving every thing about it except the net storage instead of the clam shell in the gts and you can see right into the trunk because it has no cover but.... so glad I picked this car over the other choices I had in mind.

Don't sweat the price too much. Just enjoy it and be safe. I almost bought a used '13 SRT with 1,600 miles for $82k from a dealer so your deal sounds about right. I have not seen any used ones in the $70's except at auctions which most of us don't have access to anyway. How about some pics?

I nearly pulled the trigger on a GTS at a benz dealer a few months ago but I felt I could not live with the clutch and how it drove. I am kinda happy I did not as the 15K promo is now in effect.
Be careful comparing performance with your CLS. I have a tuned one as well (best of 11.17 @ 128) and I got murdered here about a year ago by members here when I cross shopped both vehicles. Numbers are numbers on the dragstrip but that's just me.

you got beat up on it because you were not cross shopping, just pretending to be. 4door luxury sedan vs 2door sports car. AMG is great and so is Viper, but completely different rides. One has luxury and straight line performance as it best attributes while the other is all about all around performance, track dominance and looks. Again, two different worlds.
also, you really should drive more than one as your clutch/how it drove explanations were at odds with what others have realized. Don't get me wrong, I have an AMG sedan and a Viper, but never once thought about comparing them. One is a toy/extreme driving experience and the other an amazing fast comfortable daily driver.

05comm, I don't want to derail the OP thread so that will be my last comment. Why would I pretend? This makes no sense.
I have had coupes most of my life (vettes, M3, 911 to name a few). It may sound weird but the Viper, RS5, RS7, R8, M6GC, C7, AMV8S CLS were on my top list. Straight line performance was my top interest when it came to the performance parameter. The other main parameter was beauty which is in the eye of the beholder so # of doors is irrevelant. I have been on the track more than a few times but I usually do not use my daily driver and track prowess does not mean much to me for the kind of stuff I like (drag strip, mexico runs and 1/2 or mile runs).
You obviously have the means to have multiple toys and I would love to have a snake by the side of the CLS like you and guy2k. However, not in the cards right now. I agree with you that I would like to drive the car again but the local dealer will not let me do this again and I don't feel like driving 150 miles just for a 20 min test drive. I hope that I will meet someone at our local car meets that will allow me the privilege to drive his snake.
