Thanks for the post, I think it will follow the G4 ACR, same power, just more track goodies. They get a new badasp model for cheap that way (no re-cert, lower development costs, etc.)

If priced right, and they get it to the track, should be awesome.

Take one 2016 ACR. Replace controller with offroad controller and add a few reliable relatively inexpensive bolt ons. Presto chango you have a 700 HP pus road course car with great handling and probably at least 1000 pounds of down force.

The question I am curious about is will the production version have a fixed rear wing ( like the car at SEMA) or something special that adapts on the fly to changing conditions like some much higher priced cars. If it has an adaptable rear wing, I predict the production version will easily take the Ring record.

Horsepower -- whatever. It makes good power.

Now get serious about folks who want to take the car to the track AND drive it hard. That's what the ACR should be about.

Let's leave the K car technology behind and put DRY SUMP in this car already. Before. Doing. Anything. Else.
Then focus on weight, harness provisions, maybe rollcage mounts and pop-out interior panel holes for the tubing so the interior of the car doesn't have to be cut up.
Perhaps a diff cooler.
Ditch the electronic suspension system and go with 2 or 3-way adjustable race shocks.

Almost sounds like you would like the ACR-X brought back... with a few upgrades

Best car news of the last year. Can't wait to see this bad boy in action. I hope SRT does another lap record tour with it. That would be awesome.

Really ***** that the Viper racing program isn't still up.

I know, but not the same, especially considering the high note Viper racing went out on last year. Incredible job they did in a couple of years from upstarts to champions. Still pulling for Keating and company though.

I agree, I know I was looking forward to another on the edge of your seat year.
