We got 6" of snow last Wed. (day after I took first trip to dentist) and I hoped it would all melt, but it didn't. the roads looked OK, but the forecast was for rain. So I took the Steatlth R/T TT istead. Good thing I did since I slid on the Black Ice about 6 times during my trip to town (200mi.). As if that wasn't bad enough, it started snowing when I left Williams Lake and snowed for about 180 miles with the other 20 miles being rain. Even with the ice radials on the AWD Stealth I was bouncing around in the 3" slush grooves. Often my speed was 35mph. So, my Viper's parked in the Winter garage beside the BB Duster and today I'll put on the car cover to protect it fom the dust (It's dry at 3600' altitude). Waiting for May!

Not only that, but without 'Viper Dental Therapy" my face hurts and it was a sh_tty trip home. Told the Dentist I need a month off before I get the next two filings.

As much fun as it is to drive my 500hp TT Stealth (420hp in cruising mode), it's not comparable to my Viper with good weather. However, the Viper is the most dangerous car I've ever driven in Black Ice and snow conditions. It is a 'hoot to drive the Stealth on our Lake Ice road though.

I've absolutely LOVED your Stealth from the beginning when you posted you had it. Besides the Viper (WHAT can compare???)...the Dodge Stealth has always been a fave of mine, especially AWD...VERY VERY cool cars you have! Showing the Stealth on the snow is just precious!!! You go, man!!! ~juli
**Sorry about the dentist, ouch...**

Thanks. I bought a pearle White Stealth R/T TT that needed a head gasket (300hp). Then I decided that that wasn't enough so I bought a modified Stealth R/T TT from San Fran. Calif. with 13G's, HKS exhaust, HKS hard pipe and larger intercoolers, HKS SSQV, chromed Y pipe, HKS Boost controller, HKS 3rd injection system, aluminium flywheel, AEM clutch, 6spedd upgrade, GAB shocks, Eibach springs, 18" BBS wheels, bigger fuel pump, etc. Getting it home I immediately bought a new 3" downpipe and getted the 1 cat I had to leave on the car. Need ice to do a burnout! I raced a Z06 in Williams Lake and he beat me so I went home and bought a set of SS headers and a set of 16G Turbos. I also bought a 3" MAF and a MAFt to update the fuel system. I've got a FMIC and a lot of polished 3" aluminium tubing that fits on it. I'll prbably put all the used stuff onto my Pearle White Stealth R/T TT for when the Green one wears out, or I get tired of the color. lol.

The R/T has great options and comes with the 225hp DOHC V6 and FWD. the R/T TT comes with Digital Climate Control, Selective Stability control, Twin Turbo V6, All Wheel Drive, Chromed 17" rims with 245x45's, All Wheel Steering, etc. Not a Viper, but close to a stock one with a Turbo change.

I use my TT for towing some of my other cars and tow a small enclosed trailer for shopping.

Yup, and mine's lowered a couple inches. Definitely not an off-road car. In 4" of snow my exhuast pipe leaves a dent in the top of the snow.

But she's good to go for 4" of snow. Good thing we get our raods plowed.

I drove a Mitsubishi 3000 VR4 through the snow. I got high centered pretty badly.

Is not the Mitsubishi 3000GT on same platform as Stealth? Just curious!
Ted--you have awesome Stealths...and I've said that from the beginning...sorry I confused the 2 of them though, one is FWD, the OTHER is AWD. Cool pics...hope those cars last a lifetime~~~! ~juli

If I recall correctly the Stealth was at least partly developed by Mitsubishi, the 3000GT being their own version. It was planned to let the Stealth pace the Indy 500 but it not being American led to the Viper taking the job no? Guess where the Gen 1/1.5/2 mirrors came from btw.

Ahhhhh...you are very knowledgeable, dear 'boy' (;) )...I am not quite sure about the Stealth pace car...you may very well be correct. I do not know where the mirrors for the GenI came from...Stealth/GT3000? :dunno: :eater: ~juli

Excellent, we have Mopar fanatics here!

You are correct about the Stealth TT not making the pace car so the Viper prototype was rushed and used instead.

Chrysler and Misubishi had a working relationship on the Stealth/3000GT. They were all built in Japan. The Stealth and VR4's came to North America with smaller Turbos than what the car was designed for (TD04 9b's instead of the TD04 13G's) and rated at 300hp. The Euro and Japanese cars had about 360hp with the 9b's. I'm thinking that since the Stealth R/T TT beat the vette at everything except the last 10' of the quarter mile they were detuned so that they wouldn't be too close to the 400hp Viper that came out the same year? But, since the car is designed to use the 13G's they bolt directly onto the car with no other cahnges necessary. Stock is 7# of boost with the '93's having an upgrade to 9# and 320hp.

Other than voice activated phones, etc. these cars are as high tech as any new car.

I don't think the two I have will last me for life as I put on alot of miles, but I'll just buy another one when these wear out.

As far as SUV's go, I can't stand them. The guys that drive SUV's and full size pickups either don't have a Viper, or they don't drive their Viper enough I think. I can't stand to drive those things. When someone says, "It's to far to drive." or, "I hate driving." It's obvious they don't have a Viper or a Stealth TT. I need a pickup, I have one, but I can't stand to drive it and I cringe each time I drive the wife's Escape.

Another car I found that I liked too much (?) was a 92 Daytona IROC R/T. I did some 'supertuning' on it and had it making over 300hp with only minor mods. Unfortunately, "I couldn't drive 55" in that car so I had to sell it. 1 of only 432 built with the Lotus DOHC "package".

But I bought a Black (1 of 60) IROC R/T with 60,000mi. on it and I'm currently porting the Lotus head on it. I also bought a FWD Perf. 18psi computer, 40%+ injectors, etc. for it. With the Stealth and the Viper I don't plan to use it, I'll just build it up slightly and sell it. I just don't have enough garage space for all my cars (only 6 spaces).

Very, VERY nice!!! Thank you Ted and Willem/InjectTheVenom for the info...yes, definitely Mopar fans...and Stealth in particular...always loved that car...Daytona too!
Awesome work you have done on your cars, Ted...thank you for sharing. (We also have a pickup for groceries/tires for work truck/errands, but prefer to drive the Viper...AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!! Driving season is ending soon...we're pushing it as it is!)...TY...juli

Really liked the pictures and the one on the ice road:2tu: awesome!

Have to fess up.:( I do miss our SUV that we just got rid of. With two large boys it made it much easier on long trips(to Canada along with many others). Our neighbors purchased it so I do get to see it.
That being said we just got in from a nice Viper drive with the top down. Nothing like a nice day with the top down in November of all things. Probably the last one for a while.

Keep us posted on your dental visit pictures. Good stuff!

Yeh, that's my Viper. I also submitted the article called "Dodge's Secret Power" on TD's.

If you're subscribed my old 98 GTS (and crash pics) are in the Jun issue. There'll be a feature article of my Stealth in the Dec/Jan issue.

I'm working on a tech article on oils for him as well. I did a seminar with a guy from Conoco/Philips Oil and learned some important stuff that everyone should know.

Read your article, it's great! You're the Viper that 'bumped' me off of the cover page! He said that since he had a Viper on the cover of the last magazine he changed mine from the cover as 2 Vipers in a row would be redundant. Lol.

So we got 8" of snow from the last two storms.

Road maintenance didn't get the road for the dump plowed so I did it with the Stealth.

I took the snow from 6" down to 4" with my chin spoiler. After 10mph the snow builds up and flies over the roof! The snowbank coming off the road is something I don't want to be bouncing over very often - that's what SUV's are for.

This is why there's NO brake freeze

It's parked in a nice warm garage all night. It'll be featured in Domestic Driver - A bi-monthly online magazine featuring Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, and GM Cars from 1980+ Jan/Feb issue. Go to site and sign up for it for free.
Ted

Well, I am lucky NOW to have a garage, but never had one til 2002...so yepper, all my brakes froze when I got home 3am...plowing with whatever daily driver I had at the time. (No probs, next day, you just KNEW they were all iced up under there and pumped the brakes til they warmed up~~! ;) ) Absolutely love your Stealths...I will look into that site you pointed out, I'd love to see more of your cars/articles--thank you kindly~~~juli
