3,55 gears installed,,,Yeee Haaaaaw!!!

Hi all, I finally had a set of 3.55s installed last weekend! I don't know if my 1/4 mile will improve, but it pulls like a ***** ape!!! I can tell you once I learn the launch, a comparable GTS with 3.07s will flounder like the Titanic. F the seat of pants thrill, It pulls way harder,2nd on up, revs like a Ferrari, and you stay into the powerband and lose that sluggish feel the stock gears provide!!! I will never track race my car, but for the street the 3.55s can't be beat!!!!

Hey Snakebitten, I did all the usual mods, filters, tubes, hi flo cats, corsa exhaust,VEC1,etc, all of these put together don't add up to the pull factor of the gears... Money well spent AL...00PROWLER...

HA 00PROWLER, WHICH CAR DO YOU HAVE GEN 1 0R 2, RT OR GTS AND ARE YOU BURNING THE TIRES OFF IN 1 2 3 GEARS. I WAS LOOKING FOR A 373 GEAR FOR MY 01 RT BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE 355 DOES THE JOB.

THANKS AL FOR THE INFO ON THE GEARS. MY CAR HAS THE SMOOTH TUBS AND K&N FILTERS ALSO 3 IN CAT BACK. THE GEAR IS THE LAST MOD IT GOING TO RECEIVE, DON'T WANT TO SCREW UP MY WARRANTY.

How many times have I said, "This is the last piece of stereo equipment I'm buying" or "I'll never need a bigger TV now" or "I will never need to modify the viper" or "Ok, this is the last mod for the viper"

Hey Weed53, I have a 96 GTS, the 3.55s are the best for street driving. 3.73s work well in gen 1 cars. If you are drag racing the car 3.45s are a good choice... keep in mind, on engines with over 525 hp, the stock 3.07s may be best...AL...00PROWLER...

MAKARA, YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT ON YOUR STATEMENT,EXCEPT BEEN THERE, WITH 12,000 WORTH OF MOD'S ON A BMW M ROADSTER. I COULD NOT GIVE THE CAR AWAY WHEN IT CAME TIME TO SELL IT, GRANT IT WAS NOT A VIPER, BUT I HOPE THE RESALE IS BETTER ON A MODIFIED VIPER. ALSO JONB IS RIGHT ABOUT THE GEAR SWAP, ILL FEEL MORE TORQUE FROM THE GEAR SWAP THAN I FELT FROM THE STAGE 2 SUPPERCHARGER AND WATER OVER AIR INTERCOOLER THAT I PUT ON THE BMW.
