ALSO ON THIS THREAD, IF YOU DON'T WANT THIS LIFT
THAT IS OKAY...BUT PLEASE DON'T COME ON THIS THREAD AND
SAY THAT YOUR LIFT IS BETTER AND SO ON...
I tend to agree with that request....so I'll make sure it stays on topic. :) When I first read Fred's post I was somewhat saddened that he decided to, in my opinion, potentially undermine AB's efforts. Whats done is done. :)

Please keep everything on topic. My KwikLift was not much less than this....I'd be ALL over this in a hearbeat if I had the garage space (oh, and if my friggin car wasn't at Chuck's for "routine maintenance").

PS...I wasn't blasting Fred....sorry of you took it that way Fred! For the money, this is a great deal! I'll be standing by to "sticky" your group buy on the VCA lift...just drop me a note, please. :)

This lift is 100%identical to my greg smith equipment lift. If the sticker didn't say differently, i'd think it was mine. exactly the same.

Achilles99 - I thought you didn't think my lift was stable enough... yet now you are buying one. what's up with that?

For the rest of you, you don't need to anchor this lift on the ground and you can drive right up on it. normally (if you aren't storing a car above) you'll keep it in the UP position anyway as you don't want to have to drive up and down it every time. Regardless, it is a great lift. The caster set is a must. you will want it.

Good luck y'all!

No, I'm not buying one. I sent Ab a PM for closer pics of the locking mechanism. I think he must have added me as an "interested" party to the list :)

You are right, though... that lift looks EXACTLY like yours. In fact, it looks like it is a rebadged direct-lift (or Greg Smith lift). I'm sure it would be stable if it were bolted down, but for those of you who plan to roll this thing around with the casters... be forewarned. It DOES wobble a little bit (JD can verify)! And, if you notice the catching mechanism, it is only held on by a 1/2" or so. If it's not bolted down, and you hit it by accident with your other car (don't laugh, I've seen it happen... won't reveal identity of owner either :) ), be prepared to get scared $hitless.

I still prefer the lifts similar to Autolifter, where the legs are attached to the ramps with a large outside collar (keeps the legs perpendicular). But, it's twice as expensive.

This lift is a good deal... unfortunately, since my two car garage is pretty tight, I'd be paranoid that someone would run into the legs of the lift. I don't think I'd want to permanently bolt it to down, either.

With that being said... even though this lift wobbles, it works great if you are careful. A little unnerving at first, but JD and I still successfully did a few exhausts on it :)

I think any lift is going to wobble a bit if it's not achored...but the lift works and it's a great buy.

Definitely a great buy. My intention was not to diss on the group buy, but rather shed some insight that I'm glad I had when I was in the market for a lift. It might be helpful for people to see any of the lifts they are considering in person.

I think the wobble is a lot less on outside collared units. I saw both types in person, and the difference is definitely noticeable. Again, these are for free-standing 4-posters. If you plan to bolt-down, then that's a different story, and I'm sure the wobble is mitigated.

I guess they all must look the same, if you go to Greg Smith Equipment You'll see the dimentions are slightly different. The GSE lift was the only sub 2K lift I had looked at prior to AB pointing out this one, and it does not include the casters, long ramps, and drip pans like this offer..... the GSM lift would be about $2400 if similarly equipped.

Great pics AB, a few more quick questions:

1) Do the wheel stops slide in behind that plate that is bolted on?

2) Are there bearings in the cable pulleys?

3) What is that expanding pin inthe picture for?

Jay,

yes the wheel slide plate is bolted on, but the front ones are slide ins.

As far as the pulley bearings go...I am not sure..I think they are from the looks of it. If not, I was going to replace them with bearings...they are not that expesnives to do and seems pretty easy to do also.

I am very much interested. Is this primarily a car lift to work on your car....or something to double your parking space? My garage is 60x25 so I don't need to make extra parking space. I am just looking for something to do routine maintenance such as oil changes, etc on ALL of my cars. My Bimmer, Suburban, etc.

Also, what about installation? Who installs the lift?

Thanks!

Tckplz, you can use this for storage and routine maintenance. This lift is not designed to lift cars 20 times a day...I'm sure you could do it, but it lifts the car slow. I think it takes 70 secs to raise the car.

I plan on bolting mine down just for more stability and also I am using it for storage.

As far as installation goes, you are going to want 2-3 friens to help you out. The guy I talked to said it took him 3 hours to get it installed and adjusted.

ENOUGH ALREADY (aka Adam Brenass), when is the order being placed? How soon can I expect one of these to show up on my door step, how about finalising shipping costs? Can I get a quote for 1 lift with shipping, and then a 2nd lift in that same order with shipping. (meaning, I honestly might buy 2, if these is a good incentive based on reduced per unit shipping costs).

He said in his opening post he had a week to reply to the offer, opening post was 3/3...... one week would make his reply "by" 3/10 :)

Okay here's the list so far of the potential buyers.

Please send me an email if you PLAN ON NOT BUYING. I am going to cut this buy off this Friday and get the final numbers and when that happens, you will mail a certified check to me made out to Complete Hydraulics (DO NOT MAKE IT OUT TO ME. I will return the check back to you).

AGAIN, I AM NOT MAKING A DIME OFF OF THIS.
I JUST WANT A BETTER PRICE FOR MYSELF ALONG WITH YOU GUYS.

I just listed the first names and zipcode...hopefully you should recognize who you are by your zip and name. PLEASE BE VERY SERIOUS ON THIS BUY.

Name-----------Zip Code----Shipping Cost---Lift cost---Total Delivered!
O'Connell-------91910----$400.00---------$1,650.00------- $2,050.00
Jon ASSvedo-----27502----$250.00---------$1,650.00------- $19000.00
Ormberget-------78750----$325.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,975.00
Johnny Tribble--32223----$325.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,975.00
Scherzberg------36330----$275.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,925.00
Twin Vipers-----11780----$310.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,960.00
Joe---------------24551----$250.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,900.00
Joe Ryan--------19067----$275.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,925.00
Thor-------------78750----$325.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,975.00
Thor-------------75238----$300.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,950.00
Mike-------------97229----$425.00---------$1,650.00------- $2,075.00
Vipernate-------93722----$425.00---------$1,650.00------- $2,075.00
Spencer---------75070----$300.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,950.00
DICKSOn---------21015----$275.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,925.00
Wilhite---------84601----$375.00---------$1,650.00------- $2,025.00
Gordon----------78132----$325.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,975.00
ab--------------40207----$250.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,900.00
Dr.Roof------------------$250.00---------$1,650.00------- $1,900.00

Now if you want two lifts, there is a discounted cost for this (shipping). If you guys are
near eachother, I would encourage you guys to get together on the shipping
point of where it's going to be delivered. Keep in mind that these lifts
are at a real nice price due to the cost of steel going up. Ask anyone
who deals with steel...they will confirm.

You will send me the money, but made out to the company. Inorder to get this deal, I have to deliver the entire order at once.

DON'T SEND any money until I get a complete list of people who are going to really do it. I need to make sure we net the right amount to get the discount.

I am not posting to say anything for or against this lift other than to say it is a very good price. I design and build special conveyors including lifting devices of all sorts. I purchased Rotary's Revolution because I felt it's quality is unmatched and I couldn't build my own for less money. Just for fun here is what I would pay for materials only (conservative estimates):
750 for 1500 lbs steel (I pay between .50 and .60 avg)
350 for the hydraulic power unit
25 for a hose
300 for the hydraulic cylinder
100 for 10 wire rope pulleys
50 for 4 wire rope cables with end fittings
32 for 4 steel casters
40 for 4 UHMW corner guide blocks
30 for 3 plastic drip trays
50 for nuts, bolts, washers, paint, collars, labels

This totals $1,727 for just materials and doesn't include labor, profit, overhead, or insurance. Must be volume purchase plus lower overhead in Texas compared to Michigan. Frankly, I don't know how they do it.

From the specs, pictures and video I can't knock this lift. It should do a fine job especially when one considers it isn't intended to be used 10 times a day.

Just my .02 worth.

Just a thought,

Some of you may want to have like a central location or pick up at a depot and drive to pick it up. I would drive 2-3 hours to save a few hundred $$

AB,
I noticed you and Roof in. $250 Shipping to Louisville. Any chance of having these delivered to one location in Louisville, (even if it's your house) Under $2K shipped I might be in... possibly more than one..

I've got a receiving dock and forklifts for loading/unloading in New Braunfels, TX (San Antonio) if any Texans are interested in saving shipping dollars.

Hey Adam,
Is that shipping to a residence, or to a terminal, and we
need to bring it bring it home from there? I don't have a
really handy way of loading/unloading/transporting something that big, unless they can forklift to my driveway.

Anyone else in the Portland OR area getting in on this and
want to try to get a break on shipping?
