wow I am not that familiar with what the Viper body is made of....I have had a few older stingrays, of course they are made of fiberglass-so any water damage was definitely not worth messing with.

maybe depends on what you plan to do with the car-and how bad the moisture damage is...?

if it was bad, I would probably be tempted to use it as a track car.

if it was worth fixing, I would buy it to really drive it, bummer on the salvaged title, I would think it would be hard to resell at some point.

Run don't walk unless your REALLY good with electrical problems and have lots of patience with a car that is 'down for repairs'!

looks like it could be a headache IMO. 68K miles plus a salvaged title will make resale tough for you down the line.
Even if you plan to drive the hell out of it, soon you'll have a salvaged car with close to 100K on it.

I wouldn't go higher than 25K. Just my .02

Well the first question I'd ask is whether the flood
was fresh or salt water. Fresh water salvage cars are
notorious for smell, electric shorts, and mold, but
they can be cheaply repaired if you're willing to put
some serious elbow grease into it. If its a salt water
flood car (katrina leftover) the car really doesn't
have a proper chance to be fixed. You'll fight all of
fresh water conditions until the day the rust takes
over.

The other thing to consider is the tier rating of the
flood. I can't recall the details off the top of my
head, but level-1 flood only comes up to the rockers
while level-4 flood is completely submerged. A tier-1
fresh water flood is nothing compared to a tier-4 salt.

Call Scott over at X2 (the seller.) I've bought a lot
of parts off of him and he hasn't given me any reason
to distrust his business deals yet.

The insurance industry is reporting that many "rebuilt" Katrina flood cars are already showing problems. I/e....salt water is corroding the contacts for the airbags, and they have reports of bags blowing while people are driving!
