i am taking the car to chuck tator for him to give it a inspection... i will let everyone know
Ssssshhh! Don't discourage him. If this thing is the trainwreck it's supposed to be, I can't wait to read Chuck's evaluation.
Mark ,its Joe how are you?Mark you should see this Viper in question as its typical HMS .As i previously posted a NJ guy bought the car directly from HMS approx 10 years ago and of coarse got screwed(put alot of money in the car to try to get it right-but never was) .The odometer at the time read approx 10,000 miles and there was no way in the world the car only had that amount of mileage(someone definately played with the odometer wire before the car got to NJ - wonder who ) as i have seen Vipers with 50 thousand in MUCH better shape. There were MANY driveline -drivetrain issues as HMS ran the car extensively, extremely hard with SLICKS as a test mule ect.As you replied the poster went from not buying it to taking it to get it looked at in a few hours ???(why bother to even get a forum opinion )You went from definitely not buying it, to taking it to Tators in 4 hours?
That car looks like it would be a nice give away.
You should definately call Nick at MP since he personally did ALOT of wrenching on the car even though it was 8 or so years ago.Good luck.i got the forum opineion, that is why i am taking it to chuck... to have some LOOK at the car in person... i appreciate the advice and help lot and appreciate you looking stuff up for me but since the seller offered to pay for the check at tators, i am going to take it. i will keep you guys in the loop on what is going on as i am looking everyday for a car. Thanks for all of your help

Yes remember though that work was done many years ago and the owner Steve,Mike (what ever his name was) was under a VERY LIMITED budget(instructed Nick to do nothing more than was ABSOLT NECC.) .The fact that the car needed a MAJOR rebuild and rear end work at 14000 miles tells alot about how it was run at HMS.so when the car got to nick the rearend was rebuild and reg oil changes and what not were done... the car was also eating oil and was running RICH... apparently the car was fixed and the motor was rebuilt at14k (now its @ 19k) but nick said when it left it was in good running order...
we will see on saturday
ps Steve also got rid of the car because he got tired of putting good money on top of bad.Yes remember though that work was done many years ago and the owner Steve,Mike (what ever his name was) was under a VERY LIMITED budget(instructed Nick to do nothing more than was ABSOLT NECC.) .The fact that the car needed a MAJOR rebuild and rear end work at 14000 miles tells alot about how it was run at HMS.
Will be interesting to see what Chuck has to say after an inspection....
Does that mean that Trick's interested in purchasing your car again Jason? That Chuck confirmed all the VCA advice here should mean that Trick would be a happy camper if he bought Jasontiff's Viper.

I will warn you, Trick...this thing is a cop magnet. If you have a heavy foot you're in trouble. I just got another ticket on Saturday in a pack of cars doing 80. Since I'm red and loud, I get the ticket.
