I hope I am not the only weirdo enjoying getting there, doing some sport and getting back. Was this ever been tried? I use rear bike carrier on my S2000 but that's a sheet metal. I am wondering how would plastic hold up the bike weight and carrying forces.

just saying plastic would stop me from trying to mount a bike rack and bike on a viper.

Engineering plastics could certainly secure a bike well, however I'd bet no manufacturer would tool one up for such a limited market.

If you want to carry a bike, I'd recommend having a bolt on hitch type receiver made up to allow you to mount the carrier and bike behind the car.

You would then attach the carrier to the receiver when you wanted to haul your bike.

Roman if anyone could fabricate one it would be you. I did see a Viper with 2 pieces of 1" square tubeing that was welded to the cross supports behind the rearend and came out the read diffuser. They were drilled as to insert a locking pin and painted black so you barely saw them. The owner wasn't around but my guess is that it was for a bike rack. There was also a brake light connection in the diffuser that could have been used as a thrid brake light in a bike rack.

Good Luck

If you had the receiver attached to the car, you would have the added benefit of using different carriers. I saw a car that was towing 4 tires/wheels to the track using a simple trailer. Carried his jack stands, tools, etc. too.

I kept reading the title of this post while browsing and couldn't believe it. Still don't.

San Jose is near to San Francisco though, so you never know .....

Good point, and you don't even have to really tow the tires, as this Miata I saw last December proves. :D

that's.............custom

Damn, one fast sweeper and that baby will rotate on its roof. That has to move the CG at least a foot or two in the wrong direction. Of course, at least the guy does what it takes to get on the track.
