Well, like the title says I'm really debating on pulling the trigger on a brand new, 20 miles, leftover GTS. The car is gorgeous. Black Clearcoat on Sepia laguna interior, with the 18 speaker HK system. No Track pack which is a bummer but I'm happy to buy the stop tech rotors later...

Anyway, I think I got them to 85k... seems like a good deal to me. I'm a little nervous as I haven't actually seen the car in person, nor have a I driven a Gen V. I have a 2005 Silver Viper which I love, but i"ve had it for over 4 years now and am itching for a new toy.

What do you think? is it worth it? Should I pull the trigger?

Thanks!

Sure. Just make sure it has all the controller and body module updates. Have fun!

I have a 2013 base with track pack (which I will never use). Bought it January. Traded a 2006 gen 3 coupe for it. My test drive was the 100 mile drive home after purchase. It's a whole lot of car for high 80s and even 90s. I have average driving skills at best. It's easier to control than the Gen 3 and Gen 2 that I had before. I have a small SUV for daily driving. Well the Gen 5 has become my daily unless stormy weather forces me into the SUV. It's just the most fun car I have owned (driving since 1968), even at the speed limit which is my speed.

That's 50k off sticker go for it. Check to see if the doors operate properly (and don't pop open) make sure the horn works and doesn't get stuck on. See if it's an early build with the carbon fiber fitted too close to the rear hatch glass as it has been shattering on such cars when the rear defroster is utilized. See if it is part of the impending air bag recall. See if it has been run or plugged in all of this time and check battery voltage.

Other than that enjoy. Sepia is the best interior.

If you don't talk them down to at least 84.8k, just turn your man card in. You will have failed as a hunter gatherer, LOL !

When you were 12 and you wanted a toy, did you obsess over details? This is a big boy's toy. Want it? Buy it. Don't talk about price ever again. It is not relevant to the enjoyment.

Damn, I keep convincing myself more and more when I post answers like this.

95BlackZ28, I think I saw a post about this car a little while ago. Beautiful car, love the black & tan... I've owned Gen 2, 4 and now 5. You will not be disappointed. You can turn the ESC off if you want but it will be a nice safety net if needed. My back end swung out twice last week in 3rd gear getting on it (low 50's here in MI so pavement was slick). The car is amazing. Your deal is amazing. Do not worry about future values - enjoy your 640hp new sled. WATCH the owner's CD. After 7 months and 2,000 miles, I just noticed the 'SRT performance pages" icon at the bottom. Live G-force montitor and a bunch of other data, turns your 8" screen into more of a racecar cockpit. The car keeps impressing me. Let us know when you do pull the trigger. Prices cannot go much lower. Hopefully you live in climate that you get some immediate enjoyment out of it. Be safe, enjoy.

Do it do it!!!! I just bought my first Viper and i absolutely love it! I traded my 2014 Porsche Cayman S for this car. Porsche was a little boring IMO.

I've owned 2013 M3, 2013 Audi S4, Mazda RX8, Porsche Cayman S and currently own 2013 M5. Viper is the most fun I've had so far and I've only owned it for a week now. AMAZING!!!

UPDATE!!! Well the dealer decided not to let the car go for under 92k.... kinda lame. Not to worry my friends! I have since found a Viper GTS blue on Sepia
Laguna interior for 86k! Going to pull the trigger on Monday. No track pack on this one which is a bummer but hey, the big options I wanted are there. Laguna
Sepia, and the 18 speakers stereo. I'll post pics when I get the car!
Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I am beyond excited... now to list my 2005 Silver Gen III for sale......

Another dealer that is clueless. Same car will be there for a longtime. Especially with winter bearing down over most of the country.

yeah, I think the owner of that other dealer is a tool. He drives a ferrari and thinks he's a big shot. Keep losing money and time pal. On to the next one.

I seriously can't believe some of the deals out there... I mean, 86k for this car is a freaking STEAL>

Here's an interesting tidbit of info- Both cars that I have found, the first one at 92k and now the second one at 86k, were listed on auto trader and cars.com
at their original MSRP. NO WONDER THE DEALERS AREN'T SELLING THEM! There are pages and pages of vipers listed at ridiculous prices. I decided to just find the car I wanted and call, no matter what the price was. I found most the dealers were trying to sell them at 99k, 105k etc, and they have some
room for negotiation. I wonder how many buyers have passed on these cars simply because the prices on autotrader/cars.com weren't updated to reflect the
latest price drops. Dealers can be so dumb sometimes. Oh well. their loss is my gain.

I had few dealers selling me their 14 GTS for $90K with Laguna package.

There are 2 13 gts's in Atlanta and the dealer isn't discounting them much. Crazy. They are going to be 2 years old soon.
